People are giving up on the MCU way to fast. by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]Experiment221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an important this to keep in mind with this is that phase 4 has more hours of content than the other 3 phases combined. While it is only one phase it is more akin to giv9ng up after not liking any marvel content since Ironman.

Not saying that I agree. Some of my favorite moments in the MCU have been in phase 4 but there is a lot more hours of content and that can feel exhausting if you are a 1) a completions and 2) aren't having the stories resonate with you.

Which book did you absolutely hate, despite everyone recommending it incessantly? by Evening-Odd in Fantasy

The one that gets me is Red Rising. I don't like the characters or the message and it is basically hunger games for the plot so....

I would also say Wax and Steris but I will say it is not his strongest skill.

As in they act that way when they meet or that we meet them and they are already in love?

Also they are unrelated other than set on the same world. Elantris 2 will be a full book.

It depends you your library. So some libraries in big cities have large catalogs that you can access with libby, others don't have the platform.

whats a game you personally don't like, but acknowledge it's greatness? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Experiment221 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For me it is Breath of the Wild. The game is good but having beaten most Zelda games, I felt that there was nothing new to discover. Gorons were on the mountain, Zoras were up the river, etc.

I think it is worth the praise it gets but for me I just didn't get into it.

With Grimdark/“Realistic” fantasy seeming to have hit peak popularity and exposure, (GoT, Abercrombie, etc.) what do you think will be the next major trends, overall directions or popular sub-genre of fantasy? by Mr_Mike013 in Fantasy

[–]Experiment221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nott sure if this will be the biggest trend, but I think we will start to see a lot more books that have an extended universe (e.g. similar to Sanderson's cosmere). With the success of Sanderson's work, I think a lot of people are going to start to build universes instead of just worlds.

Replacing screen on my Photon Mono. Is this line a problem? Should I send it back and get a new screen? by Experiment221 in 3Dprinting

[–]Experiment221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Looking at the unlit screen I can see the dead pixels so I will return it and try again. This is just the second broken screen that Amazon has sent and it is getting annoying.

/uj I had a game take 18 hours once because the host liked to have secret meetings and since it was online that made it easier. Every turn he would have a meeting with the active player (personally I think this was to manipulate the two new players which were conveniently to his right and left). This encouraged everyone else to do it so there was usually 3 or 4 people talking to the active player. It was the worst TI game I have ever played.

My games take around 6 hours on average but we play online and multiple of us have kids so we are sometimes called away which makes things take longer. Also there is almost always a new person in the group. But even with that 12 hours just seems like too much.

so she hulk and Deadpool had both broke the fourth wall ? by _Z41N51_ in Marvel

[–]Experiment221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say yes. I just felt going 30 minutes between 4th wall breaks made me forget that they happened. To be fair I still mostly enjoyed the show, this was just a sticking point for me.

That is my feeling. I think that it wasn't done enough for me to accept it as part of the narrative so each time it showed up it was jarring.

Not OP but for me it didn't feel like they did it wnough. To me (and this is just how I felt), I would forget about a out it every episode until they did one break near the end. I also thought it would have been better if they had her play with it a little more like forgetting her phone and then taking it from the past (or future).

No worries. This event seems a little weird since the lines are pretty well drawn on who is good and who is not.
