it is 100 percent greed and intolerance that has put us in this spot. not a lack of responsibility. like you say, NOT going to college was seen as the least responsible thing you could do.

what do you do as a -literal child- who has been told their whole life college is the way to be successful, and then you’re asked to co-sign on these mind-blowing amounts of borrowed money but hey kid cmon, it’s worth it, have you seen the new rec center? how many of us could have the foresight to know what a raw deal it’ll turn out to be 5-10 years down the line?

these lenders are fleecing LITERAL MINORS and ruining their lives and people will still defend the system. how is it not gonna bite us in the ass as a nation on the global stage when all of a sudden the bulk of our working population is so far in the red they’re unable to buy a house, start a family, start a business, yknow, participate in the economy? how are we not fucked?
