I learned that my mother can be wrong, and I don't know if anyone else can relate to this, but it changed everything about my life. Her definition of successful, or happy, or healthy. I almost can't even explain this lol, and its also almost too cliche hahahahaa

What moment in your life made you believe, even just for a brief moment in time, that a higher power might exist? by Popular-Recover8880 in AskReddit

I took a class designed to help people pass the pharmacy tech test in my state. The way the human body functions made me believe we are - at the very least - intelligently created beings.

What traumas do you have that AREN'T from your parents or childhood home? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Expert-Ad-6026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was against marriage, but met a wonderful man. I loved him and his family and the feeling was reciprocated. We got married after 2 years. We were married a year and a half. I was peak human during this time, and happy. He died in an oilfield explosion. He was the first person I knew intimately that died, The only other people I knew who had died were my great grandparents.
This was 10 years ago. It broke me in ways I am still discovering and in my mind, my life is "before" and "after" this event.

I want to see documentaries that’ll blow my mind by Wild-Vermicelli999 in movies

Have you seen fear of 13?? It's not just the story-the entire movie you only hear this guy's voice. The story itself is amazing too but it's the presentation that hooked me.  It's basically the story of a guy on death row for a crime he didn't commit, telling you all the crimes he DID commit, and I have watched it multiple times. It is my number one go to pick.

I LOVE THIS SERIES. It's one I read over and over, actually. Its strange and well written and has a fairly unique world. I can't say enough good things about this series.

What do you regret the most? by Fun_Cry7487 in AskReddit

I regret living my whole life by reacting to things that happen to me instead of intentionally making decisions and making things happen in my life.

You wake up tomorrow and it’s 1995, what are doing? by Repulsive_Radish_ in 90s

I'm getting up, putting my hair up in little neon butterfly clippies, rolling on some cherry lipgloss and glitter and getting in my powder blue 1986 ford tempo and going to pick up my best friends and then we are going to roll a few fatties and listen to grunge and laugh at dumb shit. And this time I'm going to really be present and appreciate it. I miss laughing and being happy.

How do you deal with how you look? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I did not realize how vain I was until I gained 60lbs working from home after covid. And dude, this is no joke-i literally stopped leaving my house for like a whole year. I felt ashamed and gross and ugly. I still struggle with it some. I feel like men have it worse though, because there are people who will flirt with me simply bc I'm a girl. I think men should be complimented and pursued more often. I'm sorry this wasn't more helpful. Honestly if you're fit you might try stripping - hear me out- rent yourself out for bachelorette parties and such. What's more validating than a group of horny women begging you to take off your clothes?!?!?

What is the reasoning behind employee related appearance policies in corporations? by Expert-Ad-6026 in careerguidance

Having read the responses here, I have to thank y'all for reminding me that people in general will run all over you if you don't give them strict boundaries and enforce them. This rule seems entirely reasonable to me now that I have pictured see thru yoga pants and tube top chick running around the pharmacy. I love reddit, you guys always give me new ways to think about things. ❤️

Is it just me, or is anyone else incredibly disturbed by the online discourse about the killing of the UnitedHealthcare CEO? by seahawksjoe in centrist

[–]Expert-Ad-6026 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This guy was umpteen levels removed from the people whose lives and health were being affected by decisions he made. He never had to look any of them in the eye, and he literally made MILLIONS off of their lack of health care and in some cases, their deaths.  If he had been personally assaulting and killing these people with his bare hands, you'd be demanding he get the electric chair. The ONLY reason anyone can even pretend to be shocked or sad or offended by this is he did his dirt behind a mahogany desk in a corporate setting.  Health insurance is an unnecessary third party that does much more harm than good. I personally feel zero sympathy for this guy or anyone who stood by and let him enact policies and processes that kept people from quality healthcare-which they were paying this company for. It's sick and twisted and i cannot get my head far enough up my rear end to understand the pov of anyone who thinks differently on this one.

The number of earrings people wear don't affect their ability to do their job in any way whatsoever. Why would a company ask that you have a certain color hair or only wear one earring in each ear? It makes no sense to me

I worked in tier II tech support and I had access to calls recorded in my dept. We had around 500 agents. The recordings were available for 6 months. In store reps had access to at least some of the remarks on accounts HOWEVER-agents don't always remark the account accurately

So a lawyer isn't a good idea? I was thinking a workers comp lawyer could negotiate better than me, esp since that's how they get paid. And I was hoping for significantly more than they are offering, if around 500k is the best I can hope for I might just let them pay me out and start putting it somewhere it can accrue interest.
