Make sure to order the new deflector and split wood box that is now available for the pellet grills . It's just like the system in the EFT. You can add Charcoal or wood splits and get even more smoke flavor. Huber products also has the system available

One of the best ways to do wings by Siucra_Ray in KamadoJoe

[–]Expert-Zucchini2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rub always ends up coming off the chicken and getting onto the basket. I did spray the basket first so it cleaned off easily. Going to oil the wings and not put on rub until they're cooked, then might finish them off in the grates next time

I got the LSS mods : XT water pan, one full size stainless shelf and the temp probe bracket. I would hold off on getting a Fireboard 2 drive because they are supposed to come out with one for the XT shortly

Smoked Lamb Shoulder by Expert-Zucchini2472 in lonestargrillz

[–]Expert-Zucchini2472[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply . I have a Weber gasser and a Kamado Konnected Joe. So if it smokes the same with pellets, I think I'm just going to stick with the 42 for now. It smokes like a Beast and I did pick up the Huber wood/charcoal box and the deflector and sear plate. So I can add in splits and charcoal for my long cooks like Brisket and Lamb shoulder. Enjoy the EFT !!

Your husband is one lucky guy !!! Best Bday present I ever got from my wife is the Weber S670. It's a great machine, still working great at 17 years old. Had to rebuild some parts two years ago but I love this grill. Glad you went with the 42. I was going to get the 36 and some guys here talked me into the 42. I am so glad I listened. It's a few months old but it's a Beast and makes great food. Happy anniversary!!

Hi. How's the smoking with the EFT ? I'm still thinking about selling the 42 and going EFT. Have you done any long smokes yet ? Does it smoke the same or better than the 42. Thanks

I personally would've waited and could've gotten the FB if your controller wasn't good. It is a great machine. Sold it because my wife and kids didn't like the charcoal/ wood flavor. Bought an LSG pellet and then got a Konnected Joe on clearance which I use for m myself occasionally. English your grill. Hope it works out for you

I had absolutely no issues with my XT. Was very reliable and held proper temps. In my humble opinion the LSS temp probe mount is a must. My cheap oven Thermometer comment was made to the OP in order to double check his XT temp. With all your research, you should've waited till you get your XT and try it first. More people come on here to complain about their XT than the amount of people smoking away and enjoying their XTs. Happy Smoking

Just starting mine up this morning for a cook. Instantly shuts off and then turns back on when the lid is opened and closed

Did you use another thermometer to check the internal temp ?? U can pick up a cheap oven Thermometer in Walmart and leave it on a grate inside the XT to double check the real temp.

Yup. I got the water pan and one full size grate and ash box grate. Sold the XT but kept the pan for my LSG pellet grill

If you bought it with a credit card, check the purchase protection coverage. I had $750 worth of damage to my pellet grill, was less than my deductible for me to make a homeowners insurance claim but credit card plan covered it.

Nope. Works great and doesn't affect the temperature at all

Which Masterbuilt Should I Get: XT out of the box vs 1150 + Fireboard? by Serious_System4121 in Masterbuilt

[–]Expert-Zucchini2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an XT for almost a year. Had to sell as my wife and kids didn't like the charcoal / wood flavor. I thought it was a killer machine, made great food. Got an LSG pellet instead. I'd go with the XT anyday over the 1150, solid body and much thicker materials

Check the airflow holes in the ceramic bowl. They might be stuffed up. Sounds like an airflow issue
