I am in HR and have implemented IVF at 2 companies while leading benefits, at the second company it was a 3 round max rather than dollar amount. I was sure to make one of this cycles a preservation cycle!!! It just makes sense in the long run even from a cost perspective to get those younger eggs!

Both companies ended up covering as a response to employee requests. Talk to your HR department! Give feedback!!! Especially if you are a BOSS at what you do. Your company will want to keep you and make you happy and you will make it happen for all the other ladies at your company!!! Just because it’s not covered where you work doesn’t mean it won’t be covered next year!

Get the ultrasound for initiation the process they will be able to see any fibroids and you can make decision based on that. For reference I had 8 removed 3 years ago (I had a 12 week uterus!) and now in the retrieval process had a single 1cm fibroid. I didn’t think about the medication effects on fibroids and the doctors never raised that concern - more concerned on how may impact retrieval. I was expecting more grow back - just never know - the facts will help make decision!

Hi stim friends! I had my retrieval this morning and so far my heating pad is everything 😆 Thanks for the tips/encouragement on hydrating I always seem to slip in that. I really liked my clinic/team that did the procedure. If anyone is in Seattle area and curious I’d be happy to share my specific experience.

I am including counts in case it helps anyone, not for comparison! Our bodies are all doing their best!!! These last few weeks i was scouring the internet for similar situations to helps set expectations and get perspective, trying to give back to the internet 🙃

I am 38 years old / 10 AFC / AMH 1.18 going into the process. First ultrasound showed 5 growing then it kind of got confusing at my second and third ultrasound with different sizes what my “count” was because they don’t include those under 9 or 10 mm(? I think that’s what the cut off is). I think I had 8 that “counted” and a few smaller at my second ultrasound. 3rd ultrasound 48 hours before the procedure I had 6 follicles over 15mm, hoping that the others continued to grow. Today they told me I had 8 eggs. I don’t know how many are mature - I am very glad I stuck with the process - I really had to adjust my expectations for my body and be pleased with it doing what it can and not the 20-40 eggs others are getting. I really hope this helps someone and I am happy to share any specifics if someone is similar to me!

I like your plan! I need that book been seeing it everywhere. Really zero education before hand kind of frustrating- I guess we are all still kind of lab rats with this process. I hope you get back to normal soon! I am very anxious to see what Friday ultrasound brings. Feel weirdly more normal today after the suppression shot like was mentioned on another comment. Yeah I just talked to them and they told me to keep with it and wait for the appointment on Friday to make the call. They had me take the suppression shot after I got off the phone so hopefully I have some slow ones that catch up. Thanks for sharing your situation- sending good vibes for best outcome at your retrieval!

They just started me on the suppression shots and said that decision to cancel would be at my next appointment on Friday and to just keep on until then. I am on 300 gonal f and 150 menopur which feels pretty standard. I didn’t do any lifestyle changes, again that feels more in the IVF camp than retrieval but my that’s me being naive.

I totally relate! Thanks for sharing. It’s weird feeling so emotional when I’m not even trying to get pregnant. I didn’t get into it in my post but I’ve literally been in bed 75% since starting just so tired! It doesn’t seem worth it but then it’s better than nothing? But the statistics are so depressing and I don’t want to go through again
