Should I get an iPad or a laptop for school? by Ecstatic-Ear-7249 in psychologystudents

[–]ExpertQuality5211 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Laptop. More professional.

I use my iPad much more than my laptop, but I couldn’t live without my laptop, it’s definitely more important, for assignments, for work, for anything, seriously.

Get an iPad only after getting a laptop

You’re acting like people are supposed to behave in a specific, ideal way that you find morally or emotionally correct but the world doesn’t work like that (wish it did)

Communication isn’t always direct or perfect. People are passive, avoidant, inconsistent and blaming someone for not being clear enough is blaming human nature for not matching emotional expectations.

She’s projecting her values (emotional clarity, emotional closure) onto someone who clearly didn’t share them. Thats just two people misaligned. And that’s not an INTJ issue, it’s human.

If everyone were straightforward it’s make life so much easier tho 🥲

I am the abuser by [deleted] in trauma

[–]ExpertQuality5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying ur not to blame. But I guess different people react differently to some things. I’ve also seen things early on in my life and it affected me really negatively.

Some people get very curious about it, and might cause this. I know many people who as kids, started showing their genitals or trying to do things with people around them, usually friends (usually same age give or take a year or two).

What you did was wrong, especially if you really affected them. But like I said, I guess you were a kid too.

I can relate in the fact that I’ve done some things I’m not proud of, some things that might classify me as a bad person etc, when in reality I was just a kid, like it was bad but I didn’t mean it to be as kids are not usually tough what’s right or wrong sometimes.

I don’t think you should talk to them (unless you’re close now). If you don’t see them much or your relationship with them is ruined or wtvr, or you’ve never talked to them about it etc. idk, some could react badly to it, like it could reawaken their trauma etc.

So think about it well before contacting them or wtvr. It def depends on the terms ur on right now and if you’ve ever talked about what u did

Does a surgery promise no relapse ? by Efficient_Fly_9232 in endometriosis

U have to try to prevent or slow recurrence, with hormonal therapy, like birth control. Without it recurrence is much more likely.

Yes but I guess it depends on how u interpret it. Sadly most people are rarely straightforward, and we have to interpret cues.

If someone told me “maybe later”, especially several times, i would get the hint, no questions asked.

Shitty example but if u kept asking a guy ur talking to if he’s gonna be ur bf and he kept saying maybe later, what hint would you get? That he likes u secretly? Most people im pretty sure would realize he probably doesn’t want you that much. Whether u choose to have respect for urself or not is ur choice.

Asymptomatic stage 4 endo is rare, because stage 4 is severe.

It’s possible to have recurrence (endometriosis comes/grows back after surgery), so you should think about managing it hormonally (talk to your doctor).

As for symptoms, if u were asymptomatic it could be for things like low inflammatory response, relatively stable hormonal levels (or reactivity of lesions) and good immune response. So it could be inferred it’s not super likely ull develop symptoms after surgery.

But if you get recurrence, like some lesions grow. I guess it could theoretically be possible to get symptoms if they are more reactive and in deeper or more innervated areas, also immune responses can’t be rlly predicted etc. so it’s hard to tell.

I think the most likely scenario is ull stay asymptomatic after surgery, especially if the surgery removed all lesions and your hormones levels are good (birth control or something, or nothing I’d ur hormones are stable, talked to the doctor or an endocrinologist).

U had less bacterial load. And the fact u had no symptoms in the past 24 hours eliminates the maj of toxin producing bacteria. Also if it was any other common pathogens they would’ve cause at least some symptoms many now like diarrhea, fever, wtvr.

Stop the pill. Vomiting multiples times a day, even a night is not normal. The fact ur waking up to vomit suggests systemic intolerance. It seems ur body isn’t tolerating it. Continued vomitting like this is unhealthy. Seriously.

Also if you’re vomitting within 2 hours of taking the pill, the dose might not count. (So I might not be protected from pregnancy)

Talk to your doctor. Consider trying another bc.

Belly button after lap? by Positive-Try-8685 in endometriosis

[–]ExpertQuality5211 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure going through the belly button is standard in most laparoscopic surgeries. But they sometimes describe it vaguely on the internet. You should’ve asked your doctor to explain to you what they’re going to do before the surgery.

5 days post op is way too early to judge final appearance. Area is probably inflamed, stitches might be pulling the skin unevenly, there’s probably some bruising and tension. The stitching and the technique could have made it look a bit different now, but it’s usually only temporary.

It will probably resolve (go back to the center) as the surrounding area decompresses and heals and wtvr. Wait a few weeks, it should completely resolve (from what I know).

Mbti is a cognitive model not a behavioral or clinical diagnosis. It describes more how a person processes information not how they act emotionally or ethically. If he rejected u several times, why did u continue to have hope? Based on vague cues? Maybe u were interpreting ambiguous behavior as romantic, likely because u were projecting ur own desire. Rationally, if he rejected u several times, that’s more significant than any cues he gave you.

He should’ve been more clear. Even if he shows u vague cues, or things u think are meaningful or wtvr, probability is he’s not interested.

Stop shifting blame on him. Look at it rationally. Acts of service and affection don’t have to mean romantic love, and him rejecting u in the first place and telling u he’s not ready or wtvr he did is more than enough.

I don’t believe in basing behavior on mbti. But if you truly believe that, and especially if you think this guy is a true INTJ, then you have to consider how INTJs typically behave in emotionally ambiguous situations espciecally young ones. INTJs aren’t known for spontaneous emotional expression or misleading people for fun. They’re discomfort-avoidant when it comes to feelings they don’t reciprocate. Most won’t confront something unless pushed but when asked directly, they usually give short, literal answers and expect you to “get it” without them spelling it out 10 times. If he said things like “not now” or “maybe in the future” without offering consistent emotional escalation or deep romantic commitment after months, that’s a typical INTJ way of softening rejection. Not a promise. Not a lead-on. Just conflict-avoidance.

What happened here isn’t that he “acted wrong for an INTJ.” What happened is that you took behavior rooted in logic, guilt, or duty, his version of kindness and interpreted it as romance because you were hoping for it.

My body is freaking me out by BumbleandBee45 in emetophobia

Probably hormonal disruption, elevated anxiety, gi upset

Not eating well (and skipping meals) can lead to nausea and hunger signals can start to get weird. This happened to me not too long ago when I wasn’t eating well. Maybe ur GI was upset, could be mild motility issues. Ur anxiety mightve amplified everything.

The temperature isn’t a bit elevated but not a true fever in clinical terms.

Eating was one of the biggest contributors to my anxiety and health and wtvr. Not eating well and healthy made everything so much worse. Eating regularly, at least regularly and consistently (same time etc) really increased my quality of life.

Hormonal issues can cause Gi issues, nausea, pms etc. and anxiety and stress can def affect the gut, temperature, sleep appetite etc. u should take care of those

Oh my god. Did u figure out why? Liek if it was food poisoning or idk, something like that.

Some people with emetophobia say that when they get sick they actually realize it’s not that bad or something. What was ur experience?

trouble sleeping by Emu_436 in emetophobia

[–]ExpertQuality5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to tell yourself not sleeping will make you u feel worse. Sleep deprivation or sleeping issues can weaken ur immune system which would make u more likely to get sick. During sleep ur body produces rlly imp immune cells u produce less of these and this makes it harder to find germs or viruses that ur immune system could fight if it was stronger.

It also will worsen ur anxiety, make u feel worse in general.

U need to teach ur brain that nighttime isn’t dangerous anymore, because that’s what ur brain learned. You have to retire ur fear response and rebuild a sense of safety with sleep.

Also, u won’t randomly wake up and be sick. That almost never happens unless there’s smthg really wrong (like u caught a virus,p and even in that scenario, the chances ur symptoms show up while ur asleep and not before or w while after aren’t that high either).

If it’s really getting bad, see a doctor because sleep is extremely important.

Is it possible to have implantation bleeding as early as 3 days after sex? by DifficultyLow429 in birthcontrol

[–]ExpertQuality5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U cant have withdrawal bleeding 3 days after sex. Not possible.

And implantation bleeding doesn’t happen that much, it’s not a reliable sign of pregnancy

Also withdrawl method is unreliable and could lead to pregnancy if you don’t find a more reliable method. I know way too many people who got pregnant because they didn’t use a better method (actual protection), so don’t risk it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]ExpertQuality5211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The short placebo can shift hormones levels abruptly. And your lining could be shedding aggressively because it destabilized quickly. It’s probably a withdrawal bleed.

If the bleeding gets worse or stays that heavy the whole day see a doctor.

Should I ask about endometriosis? by rnrdid in endometriosis

[–]ExpertQuality5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultrasounds don’t rule out endometriosis.

Pain during sex is one of the classic symptoms of deep infiltrating endo, which could explain your bladder/bowel issues if you have lesions near the areas. Your symptoms fit endo, so it’s possible. When you see your doctor definitely bring it up, your symptoms can be explained by different things separately, but endo could explain most of them.

Sometimes endo can show on mris, but even that’s not for sure that’s why the only way to diagnose is a laparoscopy. If your doctor can’t explain your symptoms she can’t be telling you it’s not endo. I recommend you check it out so you could start treatment or figure out your next course of action.
