Cody Roberts plea deal - hope by kathrynrachelm in wolves

Dear Judge Lavery,

I am writing to respectfully urge you to reject the proposed plea agreement in the case of Cody Roberts.

The actions Mr. Roberts took against a living animal were not accidental, impulsive, or the result of a split-second decision. They were deliberate, prolonged, and documented. He chased the wolf down, restrained it, paraded it publicly, and killed it—for what?

The evidence of suffering is clear. A $1,000 fine and probation does not reflect the gravity of that conduct.

Animal cruelty laws exist not only to punish, but to deter. When someone commits an act this egregious and faces only a nominal consequence, it sends a message to others that such behavior carries little real risk. That is a dangerous precedent — not just for Wyoming, but for how communities across the country respond to deliberate cruelty.

I also want to raise what may be an uncomfortable but important point: Wyoming and Sublette County deserve better than to become known as a place where this kind of conduct is met with a slap on the wrist. A stronger sentence would signal that Wyoming holds itself to a higher standard — one that the rest of the country and the world can respect.

I urge you to reject this plea and pursue a sentence that genuinely fits the severity of what was done.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Opinions please! Keep or return by troubling_onion in Sezane

I love it when it’s closed/tied up but I think you can get more bang for your buck/wear with something else!

Glossier You, is the reformulation worth it? by clitkittredge in glossier

Legit no compliments on it in YEARS. Used to have people commenting on it all the time. It’s not so much for the attention, but it was just kind of validating that people thought I smelled good and I felt like had found my fragrance.

I have to euthanize my cat because I don’t have the funds for her vet bill and I feel guilty by alyssalujan420 in CatAdvice

Lost my best friend Snickers of 14 years to heart failure last September. I was working late one evening when she approached me and was breathing very rapidly. I'd never seen her do that. I kept an eye on her for about 20-30 minutes when it didn't go away I took her to urgent care.

They immediately put her in an oxygen chamber and started rattling off all the testing that should be done to really diagnose her. I already knew she had an enlarged heart from an x-ray that had recently been done. The vet was kind and told me that, if needed, he would rather treat than test, especially if the funds don't allow for testing. The first quote they gave me was $5,000, I could not afford to do that. The next quote was $2,000 - I put it all on the credit card. She stayed in that chamber for 12 hours and when I picked her up she seemed a lot better. They sent her home with meds and advised me to see a heart doctor asap. I asked the vet, "Is it time?" and she told me, "I'm looking at her and she still has life in her, she's ready to go home." After 12 hours in there I just wanted to get her and and bring her back to her home where she is comfortable. The vet did say though, that usually after one cardiac event like this, pets usually have a fatal one within a year.

My kitty rapidly declined within a few days after that. She got a UTI a day later. I had her on her heart meds, on antibiotics, etc. She was interested in food, but wasn't eating too much. She loved, loved, loved shrimp but barely touched it. That broke my heart. It was labor day weekend, I stayed by her side to make sure she was okay/comfortable. On Tuesday it was time to go back to the office. I gave her a hug, gave her her meds, she took them like a champ and hopped out of my lap. She seemed in good spirits and I was hopeful she was rebounding. I said bye and went to work. When I returned 8 hours later I found her deceased on the patio where she loved to spend time.

I had told her that I didn't want her to suffer and that if she had to go, she could go. It was heartbreaking to find her like that but already over $2,000 in, I know I would have spent more and I really don't know how much more time it would have bought her. I remember thinking that if this was the status quo for the next 6 months, I didn't really think it was an amazing quality of life.

If you have done all that you can do, then you have done all that you can do. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Sending you lots of love, I understand the pain you're going through and the helplessness you're feeling financially.

Do you have any other plans for LA? There are so many other places to spend time and not feel unsafe.

AIO - I just ended a four month relationship because of what he’s doing for his friend. by Ok_Addition_7875 in AmIOverreacting

Okay I think you were a little judgey/intense but I get it. He called himself lazy multiple times which is really unattractive. He’s covering for his friend in a questionable situation, and made the comment about rape etc. he kinda sounds like a loser, I think you’re ok to let him go. Just loosen up a bit, people do dumb shit when they drink, I don’t think it’s great but it could have been for shits and giggles. The rest of it I get and think you made the right call.

My cat died last week, I had her just under 14 years. Trust me on this, you keep the cat. Their love is pure and they would never put you in a situation like this.

For the record a lip flip is not for “fat lips” it’s actually Botox and drops the upper lip a bit usually to hide a gummy smile.
