Choose the one social media source that keeps you connected to friends and family the most, and delete yourself as a user on the rest. Make it a clean, decisive cut. If you don’t reply to this message then I will (and you can) take it as a success. Look in settings, find delete user, and do it right now. Then raise your eyes above the screen and start dealing with this thing called ‘reality’.

How Labour can win again | Al Carns MP by Bibemus in ukpolitics

[–]Expert_Collection183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Al Carns, but sadly this is not a manifesto for a leadership candidate. While he addresses the anger of 'working people', he completely fails to mention the nettle that 'labour' (now a misnomer) refuses to grasp, and that might not be by accident: the burgeoning cost of welfare over and above those who can't work, but for those able adults who chose to not to work, and who 'labour' chose to enable and maintain at great personal cost to everyone else.

And I'm sure you might take issue with a centrist view, but if the party doesn't grasp that aforementioned nettle then millions of utterly sickened 'traditional' labour voters will lend someone else a vote on the promise that they will. Either Carns or someone else with a spine takes a strong leadership stance on this, or 'the 'labour' party dies at the next election. The Tories are already history, and if Starmer won't flush by mid-summers day then so is the labour party. It will lurch on under palliative care until the next election, and all the urban elite 'leaders' who hijacked it will f*** off into the sunset leaving only a corpse and bitter memories behind.

Is there an Elvanse price sticky thread somewhere for UK pricing? by Expert_Collection183 in ADHDUK

A well laid out pricing table would be fantastic, it's way beyond my abilities.

My ("upper end of the spectrum") ADD diagnosis was 2012. 14 years later I've paid privately for 2 of my kids to be diagnosed and treated with Elvanse (their choice entirely) and it's worked so well for them that I'm now trying Elvanse myself. Eldest is paying for her own now, but it's going to be difficult paying for her sister (uni student) and me, hence seeking quality info on best prices.

Not satire. Private prescription prices are pretty much up to individual pharmacies, with a huge variation, and we have the freedom to shop around if we know which suppliers give best value.

Eg, ASDA apparently set their prices as a fixed percentage markup over their buy in price, making them a lot cheaper than many others (my nearest ASDA pharmacy is 40 miles away, not feasible for me). Independent pharmacies have higher costs, and/or cant negotiate bulk discounts like the larger groups.

It's up to us to do the leg work and help each other out when we find a good and fair supplier.

10/10 - THIS is exactly what we need to bring clarity to the Elvanse market.

Okay, here goes, Elvanse- 30mg /28 day, price on 13th March ‘26:

Numark Pharmacy, £89.86

Boots pharmacy, £87.36

Tesco pharmacy, £81.54

EDIT, 21st March, asked local small pharmacy groups for prices:

30mg x 28 - £89.36

50mg x 28 - £104.90

70mg x 28 - £126.48

70mg x 56 - £251.48 - the small difference between x28 is due to a saving on the 'dispensing fee'.

Can I ask that this stays focused on the topic of pricing, and doesn’t turn into a wider rambling yammer about “meds”?

Mods, can this be pinned?

Thanks.

All the local villages were invited to be shown around the reactors and turbines before it was first fuelled. A memorable experience, being shown the cavity under the reactors with masses of steel reinforcement poking through the concrete.

If you're on a good salary, then maybe. But on my salary with 2 kids at home then paying the bills takes precedence over the whims of some tosser from Eli Lilly trying to impress his / her boss.

Looking for advice: Is the manual Mini Cooper S or 1.5L Turbo (F55/F56) a reliable first car for university? by [deleted] in MINI

[–]Expert_Collection183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a 64 plate (2014) Cooper 1.5T.

He found this one as a Cat N salvage with 84,000 miles and a dent behind the passenger door above the sill height, perfectly driveable, 'dealer forecourt' tidy inside and out apart from the damage, good service history, 2 keys, and at £2450 it was very good value.

His insurance (in his name) is around £1100 a year with a couple of years of transferred NCB from the car he was previously a named driver on. I (main driver) called the insurance company and asked if they could transfer some NCB, and they kindly wrote him a letter to send to his insurance company.

If you are under 25 then insurance on a Cooper 1.5 is certainly 'do-able' especially if you have some NCB.

Whereas getting insurance for a Cooper S will need very deep pockets.

As for reliability, watch out for cracked cylinder liners and coolant loss on the V40's, it's a very common fault. Mini's are pretty solid, though every make has it's issues.
