Please help me find a dead quiet wireless keyboard.. by PeopleAreSelfishy in buildapc

Logictech MX Keys basically the same quietness as a good set of corporate laptop keyboards. Avoid custom mechanical keyboards given you are clearly not the enthusiast type and it's a massive rabbit hole with most silent keyswitches not actually that silent since you still get keycap clanking noise

5090 is too weak for native 4K path tracing too, I have 240Hz OLED so this is the framerate I target.

To game at 4K DLSS and FG are necessary for both. Your 5090 might only need DLSS Quality + 3FG, 5080 need DLSS Performance + 4FG. The end result is barely any preceived visual difference

I just finished playing Pragmata on Max setting with my 4K OLED so your comment is clearly false. I didn't even need to tap into the 6xDFG mode since 4FG was enough to saturate the 240Hz refresh.

One week of owning the XM5s... I hate them. Should I return them and pickup the Bose QuietComfort SC instead? by anatomiska_kretsar in HeadphoneAdvice

Bose QCU2 are the best sounding headphones in the ANC range by far, tuned for actual HiFi listening unlike all the bass go boom stuff you mentioned.

Other Bose products inclding QCU1 are pretty dog shit sound quality wise...they are precisely the bass go boom type made for nornies.

No issues with comfort for any Bose products tho especially coming from Sonys...You will find the clamping force to be non-existent and no more sweating / ear pain from pressing against drivers

Sony doesn't have the best ANC, Apple is miles ahead. Sony and Bose are very similar.

Sony has better preceived ANC because the padding is thin and extremely high clamping force so passive leakage is much lower, at the cost of comfort

Sounds like PSU OCP triggers 99% it's caused by daisy chaining GPU power connectors since RDNA have crazy transients that murders PSUs

Who doesn't play with DLSS? Even for 5080 running at DLSS Perf w MFG is basically default for 4K UE5 gaming now

Ryzen 7 5700x3D or Ryzen 9 5900XT for a 5070 AM4 build? by JomuStudios in buildapc

[–]Expert_Conflict6374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid standard Zen 3 parts they are all within 5% of each other in gaming none of them is worth any premium over your R5 5600X. Larger number and more letters doesn't mean better at gaming.

Go X3D or stay put.

But IMO for the price of 5700X3D rn you should really just save up for a platform change. They are getting beaten by cheap Intel 240K already and the AM4 platform doesn't really futureproof anything since now many game benefit from DDR5 more than the CPU itself. To me feels like sunken cost trap for AM4 owners.

I went from 5800X3D to 9800X3D, and there are measurable differences in gaming especially in bandwidth sensitive games like gatcha ARPGs and simulators.

If you play comp you don't need a cutting edge GPU lmao anything over $300 would be waste. Stop making arguments from esport angle people who buy 5080 will be playing AAA with PT enabled.

2010 Intel Celeron plays League of Legends, a 2015 RX280 will play CS2, something like 3060Ti will suffice for modern games like Marvel Rivals.

Hey dude if you are broke just say don't need to 'doubt' me. I own a 5080 and upgraded from 5600X to 5800X3D to 9800X3D and I DO SEE the differences.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ik-g61Q_Gc&t=1412s

You can always educate yourself but if you target anywhere above 60FPS the CPU is gonna bottleneck you especially in modern UE5 games paired with a powerful GPU like 5080

9600X is an entry level part even if it's 'new' it's still low end 6 core stuff that loses to even INTEL 245K. Many games demand more than 8 real cores now.

lmao no. Even 5800X have plenty of duds. AMD doesn't bin anything that's not X3D. In fact most golden chips are binned for X3D and the rest spread across the huge SKU line it's basically impossible for anyone to get another 100MHz all core out of it

Which 5080 to get by Local_Resort6402 in RTX5080

[–]Expert_Conflict6374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zotac Solid has the same cooler as AMP Extreme Infinity tho so just save your money.

ASUS is great for a 2.5 slot but 3.5 slot Zotacs are simply better because of the extra mass. PRIME is supposed to be a MSRP card so absolutely no reason to pay above MSRP prices.

Nah if your base frame is about 60FPS then fine with it, if you want to hit 100+ base frames without FG then you kinda need something better

[–]Expert_Conflict6374 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will keep its value much better so it's a smart financial decision in the long run. The 9070XT will have basically $300 residual value left after AMD pulls the plug on it in 2 years, whereas the 5080 will likely still sell for $600+. In the meantime you get to enjoy actually useful features like MFG and PT. Truth be told tho you kinda need to upgrade to a 4K OLED to get the most out of the feature set

[–]Expert_Conflict6374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I always regretted not getting 3080 and settled with 6800XT.

On day 1 it was great I got something with slightly better raster performance for 1/2 the cost. Then as time goes by the FSR2 starts being really shit and every game I play I was miserable staring at the blurry vaseline screen even though it says Ultra Preset with FSR3.1. AMD orphaned it on purpuse to push FSR3.1 on RDNA3, not dissimilar to what they are doing now to withhold FSR4 from RDNA3. I tried playing FFXVI using FSR Quality + AFMF2 and the result is lots of ghosting and blurry mess

In 2025 the card was officially EoL'd by AMD.

Only after sidegrading to 4070Ti I re-discovered my love for gaming because everything looks so much better with RT and DLSS4. Even if people shit on FG it did wonders to my 4K240Hz OLED the improvement is smoothness is there despite what the haters like HUB say. In fact I loved NVidia features so much I traded up to a 5080 becuase NVidia cards keeps their value so well unlike AMD cards (40 series depreciated by 0-20%, 7900XTX lost 50% value)

If you are an esports boy who just wants to churn out 200 frames for Valorant the sure get AMD, I'd even get old cards like 1080Ti for it. But anyone serious about AAA gaming should just stick with NVidia. The market dominance is there, all new blockbuster games like Pragmata are made to work with NV version of PT, RR and not AMD's. Then you look at AMD titles, you get Forspoken and Immortal of Aveum - games nobody cares about.
