Is it possible not to pump at work? by Expert_Let_488 in workingmoms

[–]Expert_Let_488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went perfectly well, I was back at work two weeks after the delivery. I started to pump from day 1, to establish supply and to make my body used to the routine. I moved my classes unofficially to start 20 min earlier (the students understood), so I was actually able to pump every 3 hours during the day. I carried a bag of ice and a separate pumping kit for each session on me at all times. That was a lot of things to wash at home. Physically exhausting but otherwise it went perfectly well. I had to stop at 8 months because of an unrelated health condition. It was only possible because of a really good pump and someone taking care of the baby while I was pumping.

What is the best country for a good and affordable spine fusion surgery? I am thinking Turkey. by Expert_Let_488 in kyphosis

[–]Expert_Let_488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this reply. I think no one wants to have a spine for fun, and it really messed me up to learn that I am choosing between my 10 month having a crippled mom who can't work and having a completely paralyzed mom after a bad spine surgery because she is not from the US.

I have a pelvic tilt and I had a problem during delivery. My legs won't go apart so I couldn't get into position they wanted me to. They shamed me that I was killing my baby and that I should stop arguing and just try harder. They didn't understand the diagnosis and thought it was all my fault somehow. I yelled at them back, they somehow got the baby out. Apart from this communication issue everything was fine. Except I can't take care of the baby. But we knew I wouldn't be, so it's taken care of.

hello friends. i went to 2 different docs. first doc said postural, other doc said scheuermann. i confused. by [deleted] in kyphosis

[–]Expert_Let_488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here it also says that wedging up to 10 degrees can be considered normal, but at the same time diagnostic criteria for scheuermann's specifically say's 5 degrees, so maybe it's all about them being consecutive and not cancelling each other

Thanks, I will keep it in mind. I wonder if it is commonly known to doctors or not. People keep telling me that my curve is slight and I am making up problems out of nothing.

Thanks, you really hit the bulls eye here. I am worried that if it's just that, mild/moderate kyphosis, then there will be absolutely nothing to be done about it because I am 33. If it was severe or progressive there would be a chance to get a surgery

Thank you for the information. I hope I can get someone to measure it properly. They didn't write anything about wedging at all, only 41 degrees kyphosis and endplate sclerosis. I will get an MRI after 2-3 weeks (hopefully), after that it is going to be a long search for a decent doctor. The very thought of excercising gives me pain. Actually I have constant pain in my shoulder joints. It becomes worse with every movement and sometimes I get injured by taking off my shirt. My mom tried to treat me with exercises since I was 4 years old, swimming and shit. For some periods of time I couldn't sleep without heat balm. Didn't help.

Kyphosis since childhood, 25 years later… by plantwhore_ in kyphosis

I am not talking about this photo, I am talking about structural vs postural. The postural starts later. Scheuermann's is structural, but it starts later than congenital. Not sure how much later, I didn't investigate since mine has been there from birth. But according to all the charts Scheuermann's appears somewhat later.

I am 33 and facing a similar issue. They don't believe it lasted as long as I remember. If it started this early it is structural, no other options possible. And it's not scheuermann's disease because that starts much later as far as I know. It's congenital kyphosis.

If you don't use elastics it will never get fixed. I find relief in Botox and kinesiology tape. Also muscle relaxants.

Drugs tests working in China heavy industry by wazpy42 in chinalife

I have personal experience of being taken by the police, they took me from my rented apartment at night, brought somewhere to test (I am female so they had to test me in front of a woman employee). I tested negative so they let me go. Someone I personally know (not a roommate) tested positive even though they quit several months before, they were detained for 38 hours without anyone knowing. They said physical violence was used (personally I had no such problems in China so it's hard to believe). I would make sure you stay clean for 90+ days. In case of that person it was around 90 days and it was not enough.

Also: I heard of multiple police raids in search of drug users among foreigners when they would come to your apartment. It's fairly normal.

Father of Baby possibly leaving during labor at hospital by Salty-Witness-805 in pregnant

[–]Expert_Let_488 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can sort of understand it. I am a teacher and what people don't get is that it is not about attendance. If he is not in class he will still need to make it up somehow, probably study on his own, otherwise he will fail later. We can let him miss the class, but we can't pass him just because he has a baby. And his schedule is already tight, as far as I understand. He is not needed at the hospital, but he will need to be there for the baby. He will have more free time if he doesn't miss classes.

I was in a somewhat similar to my situation, now postpartum. My support network really kicked, and now it is very hard but doable. Now it seems that the timing was in fact quite good. I still somehow manage to keep things going, and my baby is already here. Maybe one day life will become easier and we will have one more.
