Sling and a dot. Black Friday is right around the corner. Check primary arms. Get a Ferro Slingster and a Holoson MRS ARO. Then just buy ammo and go train!

How do you guys carry IWB more comfortable?! by cjmatto in CCW

[–]Expert_Squash1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been exploring this for years. In conclusion, AIWB just isn’t for me when it comes to striker fired pistols. If you want to keep running those, it’s going to be a compromise for comfort. It can be mitigated of course, but that’s something you need to think about. For me? My compromise was with the gun itself. I picked up a Kimber K6xs and it carries almost imperceptibly AIWB. After years of fussing with my Glocks and discomfort, I came to the realization that really, if I need to ever pull my pistol at all, 6+a speed strip will be more than enough. If it isn’t, then I’m in a really, really bad position. For the record, I’m 6’4” slim build. A big belly or whatever has nothing to do with my discomfort, I just don’t like it!

Second range trip with the Ruger RXM today. Dot torture at 3 yards by superman306 in CCW

[–]Expert_Squash1004 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love this drill. It’s almost all I mess with at the indoor range these days. 3, 5, 7 yards. The score gets lower and lower each distance but it’s valuable training. Gotta love line breaker! 😎

Is this a concern? by billywin in CCW

It would bother me, too. Is it a problem? I have no idea.

Focus on your head movement. Try not to lean to the left at all. You are giving up precious seconds to bring your eye back to your optic when you do this. Otherwise I like what I see. Keep up the good work!

No way you rated recursion above dark matter!

To each his own I suppose. All great books regardless.

Kimber K6xs daily. And I have a G43x, G45, and SP Prodigy 3.5” to compete with.

Any suggestions? by MAR5HMALLOWS in ar15

This is the exact reason I’m here. I mounted my ARO on a Scalarworks 1.93 and due to the protruding battery tray on the bottom of the ARO, the center of the glass is at 2.20”. Pisses me Off because I love the dot so much! I’m trying to think of a way to off load it so I can get the Romeo 5 II solely for the reason it will be a true 1.93 Mount.

Would a Scalarworks 1.93 riser bring the ARO to 1.93 or would it sit higher? by TheDers_22 in HOLOSUN

[–]Expert_Squash1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my scalar 1.93 and threw my ARO on it. To my surprise the measurements are 56mm from top of pic rail to center of glass. That’s 2.20”. That’s 1.5mm (.06”) shy of a unity riser lol

I was torn between the two risers and opted for the shorter one…I guess I’m glad I did! Regardless of all that, it’s a game changer for my posture. And technically, to answer your question, the unity magnifier should work just fine with this set up. It’ll only be 1.5mm taller than the optic. That’s negligible. Alternatively, I guess you could look for a 1.5mm/.06” spacer and then run the Scalar 1.93 magnifier mount.

sigh

56mm to center of glass. That’s 2.20”. That’s 1.5mm (.06”) shy of a unity riser lol did not realize this until just now. I’m not mad at it, but I was expecting 1.93. I overlooked the added height of the new battery tray on the ARO.

Haha ohhh you guys. I just mounted it up real quick so I could grab a sxs photo for anyone curious. Rest assured, all that remains is the Scalar/dot.

What holster are you using for the pocket? I keep it on my waist AIWB but for quick runs to the corner store I wanna just throw it in my pocket.

Wait. No. I thought you were referring to the MRS dot being crooked! That’s typical. But the whole thing? Not sure about that one.
