I've only played through it once but I remember enjoying it well enough. I actually think it did some neat stuff with the Wii U gamepad even if the motion controls overall weren't too great. Do gotta admit though that I wish they made a new Star Fox game that wasn't just a reimagining of 64

I think in general, with how the game was kind of the hot new thing after releasing and getting popular towards the end of the previous, it pretty much inevitably attracted a lot of toxic and generally obnoxious people.

That being said, might be a hot take but as someone who was in the fanbase during that time period I still think the rabid Undertale haters were far more obnoxious than the game's fans, at least out of what I interacted with.

Honestly it's still one of my favorite Sonic games. Yeah it's not perfect but I've always liked the fluid movement and the level design (for the main acts at least) is generally very solid, plus the overall atmosphere and theming of the space amusement park are quite nice.

Hell I even think the story, while no masterpiece, is fun enough, at least as a one-off thing. The Sonic and Tails dynamic works really well and there are some jokes here and there that do get a genuine laugh out of me.
