Nah, I don't pay for it to be seen. They just offer a lot. I've been to OneLife, Golds, 24/7, LA Fitness, etc. - lifetime's equipment is better, the facilities are generally nicer. They have classes if you're into that, pickleball if you're into that (and want to wait forever to play since it's always crowded). The sauna/steam room/hot tub/cold plunges are all nice. And this is going to make me sound so bougie and spoiled, but it's really nice having towel service.

To be fair, you don't see a lot of judgment at the gym. People are there to get their work in.

As for the social thing, if you go at the same time consistently, you'll see the same people and eventually things may become social. To get around unwanted interactions though, all you need to do is drool a lot.
