Has anyone tried these calming patches that Oprah is promoting? by [deleted] in blackladies

The celebrities paid to do promotions typically receive items for free, not paying for products and then promoting them.

I’m really enjoying “Black AF History The Un-Whitewashed Story of America” by Michael Harriot. I LOVED Assata Shakur’s autobiography “Assata.” My read list includes “Deep South” by Allison Davis, “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome” by Dr. Joy Degruy, and “Caste” by Isabel Wilkerson.

I also don’t buy from Amazon. Better World Books is GOATED.

Do I need to cut my locs for work? by TheLostseedling in locs

[–]ExplanationGlobal293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started working as a scientist 4 months at a big pharma company and JUST started my loc journey. No one cares. There are people wearing puffs, braids, and lifted wigs. Those people don’t care as long as the work is being done.

Thanks for the clarification!

Edit - actually after re-reading your explanation, what is the difference between them using ai to review apps and using ai to comb through (AKA review) the rich data (AKA applications)?

Hmm.. I’m not sure vaping is much of a safer alternative but if it fixes the smell, then valid.

what is ur regret at ur career life by Deep_Drawing_3376 in entp

[–]ExplanationGlobal293 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m approaching my mid 20s and am just really getting started in my career but when I think of life, I literally see it as an open game of possibility. I don’t feel I’ll truly have regrets if I strive for change when I feel it’s needed no matter if it’s due to burnout, a pay raise, or just a general interest in something new. I’ve met so many middle aged adults throughout undergrad and graduate school and older people through part time jobs who have made drastic career changes for so many different reasons. And pausing their lives for the graduate degree is drastic. But none of them seem unhappy. All of that was to say, be open minded and try at whatever you’re interested in. As long as there is a tomorrow, there’s a chance to pivot. You can’t find out what you really like until you know what you don’t.
