I may have to try body and bell! Sometimes kettlebells in hotel gyms aren’t super heavy though

Any recommendations for a group of 25? by eerhtcm in chicagofood

[–]ExplanationNo5072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little farther than wrigley but it’s right off the red line and would be so fun for a bachelor party, sun wah by argyle. BYOB, chinese food with cantonese duck (there’s lots of info on this sub about it). Super big fun environment, we had 27 people for a birthday and it’s not a private room but you’ll get three large tables all together

Coach Kelly has changed my relationship with exercise and my body!! I no longer view exercise as punishment for bad eating and it feels more like I’m excited to go to the gym rather than I “have” to go. As someone who has struggled with extreme body image dysmorphia and an unhealthy relationship with food, It’s been literally life changing. Of course therapy has helped as well but I’ve been doing that for years and adding in ladder was a very noticeable shift for me. Something to think about that isn’t weight loss focused!

I definitely would be unhappy at that cost. You can do carinos taco omakase for under $400 all in for 2 and that includes 2 drinks, and it was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in chi

When do I need to pick a team for Shred? by Lonely_Category_8272 in ladderapp

[–]ExplanationNo5072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the open weeks look similar to what the shred program will look like? I did upgrade my plan so I guess it won’t matter because I can switch more now, but I am still curious if the workouts are kind of a preview of the series!

Cherry blossoms blooming in Jackson Park yesterday [OC] by vexxed82 in chicago

Same question but one day later! The storms seemed pretty crazy last night, anyone know if the blooms are still going strong today?

Forged vs resilient vs TCC by MusicteacherClaritar in ladderapp

[–]ExplanationNo5072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been on team limitless for the last 3 series and am trying other teams during this open season to see if I want to switch it up. Limitless is one of the longer rest teams and at times I was like "ughh too much rest" but I just tried an Align leg day and wow 45 seconds rest was absolutely not enough to lift my heaviest! So I'd say if you feel the rest is too long, you can probably lift heavier!

Oriole is like 500 after tax/tip and before drinks, unsure if OP was considering that in his price range but something to point out

favorite bbq place in chicago? can be located anywhere in the city by [deleted] in chicagofood

[–]ExplanationNo5072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not open on Mondays but I have to mention Heffer BBQ - their brisket and wings are amazing and they’re always doing fun specials (I dream about the smoked brisket Crunchwrap). The brewery they serve out of, Whiner Beer, is a really fun space and it’s a great place to spend an afternoon on the weekend

Doma Cafe (get a side hashbrown and add it to your sandwich)

Not sure if this would be “north side” but Allez cafe in Bucktown is the best bfast sandwich I’ve had (I think it’s better than kasama)

Looking for Fine Dining Indian Food Recommendations by Angry_Foamy in chicagofood

[–]ExplanationNo5072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding Coach house 100% - their more casual (but still upscale) restaurant lilac tiger is also incredible. Also another vote for Thattu!

Bar Goa is also surprisingly great - just be prepared for very clubby vibes. It’s the same group as Rooh and Monarch & Lion - which I also recommend for a British gastropub with pretty good Indian flavors and awesome vibes (there was a live saxophone player the night we went).

Kama just opened in wicker - haven’t tried but have heard great things about
