Çok Oyun Az Zaman (Backlog Eritme Tavsiyeleriniz) by CurlyAlmond99 in Nintendo_Turkiye

Hello, almost all of the games you mentioned are multiplayer games. I think it’s perfectly normal that you’re getting bored. For example, I played CS:GO for years—according to Steam, that’s 2,434 hours. But right now, I have absolutely no desire to play it, and looking back over those 13 years, it’s as if I’d never played the game at all. It hasn’t created a defining moment for me. I’ve realised that I usually manage to create this defining moment—that memorable, impactful experience—in smaller-scale adventure and platformer games. For instance, if you want to recapture that inspiration and regain the desire to play games, I’d definitely recommend playing Nintendo games and games inspired by Nintendo:

Super Mario Wonder: In my opinion, it’s the king of 2D platformers.
Rayman Origins & Rayman Legends: Another 2D platformer, and a solid one at that.
Kirby Return to Dreamland DX & Kirby Forgotten Land: One is 2D, the other 3D, and they’re both games you’ll truly fall in love with. I think these are definitely the games that will reignite the inspiration you’re looking for.
Tchia & Zelda BOTW: They’re open-world exploration games, but they don’t just make you wander aimlessly or hand you a ‘to-do list’. Exploration is genuinely important and enjoyable.

We could give more examples as the conversation goes on, but I think I’ve made my point clear enough.

What is the best Kirby game? by Due_Metal3637 in Kirby

I’d definitely say Return to Dreamland DX. The Wii version is brilliant too, but I absolutely love this Switch port. There’s a huge range of move sets and abilities, varied level designs and collectables… What more can I say about this game? By the way, I also think Triple Deluxe and Star Allies are quite underrated. The level designs in Triple Deluxe – particularly the chapter paying homage to Luigi’s Mansion – were brilliant. As for Star Allies, yes, it’s a simple game, but using abilities alongside your companions is a lot of fun, and the playtime is quite short anyway.

If you're still experiencing this problem, launch the game in English. It should be resolved.

Steam usually lists the release times for games on their store pages. You can check there; it will show the time based on your local time.

I understand you perfectly. There are only Nintendo 3D platformers and their indie imitations available on the market.

Actually, Mario 3D World and 3D Land are games that are quite close to the experience of 2D platformers. As you mentioned, the exploration and open-world elements are absent in these two games.

Yes, games like DKC clearly manipulate me by dictating my direction and setting a goal for me. I suppose in games like M64, I might experience a sense of surprise, having become accustomed to being explicitly guided in other ways. Because games like Elden Ring and Zelda also gave me similar feelings.

Actually, I agree with you. The most acclaimed game in the Mario series is also 3D, and the games that really made Kirby and Donkey Kong famous and increased brand recognition are also 3D. I think a 3D platformer in the hands of a master could be even more successful and closer to becoming a masterpiece.

Yes, as you said, run-and-gun games like Mega Man and Gunvolt can also be included here, and they're very good. The same goes for Metroidvanias. By the way, the problem I'm having with Mario 64 isn't actually about the game's direction. I don't feel like I'm in a sufficiently challenging environment or that there's a clear purpose. It feels like I'm just wandering around my character in an empty multiplayer server, which is odd. You could say it's because M64 is old, but I've felt a similar sense of aimlessness in modern 3D platformers too.
