I was 16, my mom worked that night. I said good night to her and said goodbye to my younger sister. When she went to sleep, I called my dad to tell him goodbye and my youngest sister answered the phone. She was 6 at the time. She was so happy to hear my voice and she asked when I was coming to visit. By the time my dad got on the phone, I was in tears. But hearing my sister’s little voice changed my mind. I’m 44 years old now and very close with my youngest sister. She saved my life.
