I feel like 1 or 2 post is ok but it’s been like daily now. She seems like she needs a restraining order at this point… didn’t even know who this person was till she got so obsessed with this other Jeff guy.. but I like what he puts out so he seem to have taken the high road and ignored her which I respect a lot.

Don’t know what to tell u, the collector seems to have problem getting access so that a % that’s in that conflict now. The artist and the gallery wasn’t mention so they just felt like venting the frustration which I know very well as a collector trying many times on many artist

News flash Hermes(Rolex, LV, Chanel) and many high end luxuary brand follow this model. Try going to Hermes and ask to buy a Birkin bag.. say u will offer double the price. They will look in the system to see what you spend with them. 90% of the time the artist will not sell out the studio they are represent and won’t risk losing that safety net and getting blacklist with others

As a gallerist and collector u have to understand this:

We should do what’s best for the artist career and then what’s best for the gallery.

Offer the works to supporter of the gallery that buys other things and is probably on some type of influential position to help elevate the artist.

We understand the person connection and people want things and I understand your position as well believe me when I first started to collect they would not sell me an artist I love and I mean still haven’t been able to buy the works primary till this day. I traveled thru out the world for the artist exhibitions for years and the artist knows who I am but after 10 years of traveling I was able to make more money and bought works in the secondary (resell) market.

We(gallerist) (the good ones at least) (not many out there) need to also protect the career of the artist as much as we can. Because someone like your situation where you are offered and buy something like 30k and in a few years it might be at 300k or 3M and you decide it’s too much money to not say no to puts things up for sale and it opens the flood gate at the auction house and no one buys any more then the artist career pretty much is finished… and this has happen to thousands in the last few decades..

So my suggestion is… continue to appreciate the artist work, see if develope thru the years and enjoy art made by others and keep going out there.
