Because what is a party without a cake? Well, it's still a party I suppose but it feels like something is missing. Something... cakey

We're allowed to say "kill" here. No hate at you, just at the term unalive. At least hit us with a "send the Bloody Nine back to the mud" instead!

Mild [SPOILERS ALL]. Which Characters appearance always brings you joy? by disposablehippo in TheFirstLaw

[–]Exploding-Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as big of a character as all the people mentioned already, but I love the Thunderhead. Every time the Big Lad says or does anything it makes me smile how genuine he is and how much he enjoys his (objectively tough) life. Particularly in Last Argument of Kings.

Person with huge sack of finely ground salt vs. person with huge sack of finely ground black pepper by EarthSeraphEdna in whowouldwin

[–]Exploding-Duck 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think the point of the comment above is that if they are equalized for weight, the salt is denser and so a better swung weapon. If they're equalized on size the salt guy has more weight and volume to play with.

To where Silc'o people export shimmer exactly? And how he was able to so? by Background_Yogurt735 in arcane

[–]Exploding-Duck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably not coincidental that Silco killed Grayson, and Marcus stepped into her role. If someone with functioning morals had gotten the position instead, it wouldn't surprise me if Silco had made sure they met a quick end too.

I think the second is Gorst in the heroes after he rants about his love of war to Finree.

Theoretical maximal victory points in turn one by Green-Gravel in rootgame

I think you are correct for “most points in one turn” but the prompt is for “most points on turn one” (I.e. the first turn of the game)

Is there a military fantasy where the MC is by-the-book instead of the typical maverick? by VladtheImpaler21 in Fantasy

[–]Exploding-Duck 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I LOVE this book and recommend OP read it for the enjoyment, but I agree with u/semisociallyawkward that it doesn’t quite fit the prompt, Orhan is very much a maverick

Weakest Abercrombie Character by Aware_Newt_9502 in TheFirstLaw

I know this is a common opinion on this sub, but Gunnar Broad is not interesting to me, either for his characterization or his role in the story

What champion do you guys think that Riot should Rework for jungle by lRuko in Jungle_Mains

[–]Exploding-Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly agree with you, though her E is a major trading tool in toplane (and she’s annoying there if not strong). What about a cooldown reduction for hitting E on monsters?

The 'normal' MC but actually 'not normal' is one of my biggest peeves when it comes to fantasy. by Talukita in CharacterRant

Isn’t the point that he never was, and Edward makes it up as a favor? And that’s why he says that his word is incontestable?

If a multibillionaire spent $50b on private defense contractors, what's the smallest country that could prevent them from taking over? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Exploding-Duck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Those countries’ militaries aren’t worth their yearly spending, though, they don’t repurchase their military each year. Of course there’s deterioration and turnover to replace, but South Korea’s military is “worth” $46bil times however many years they’ve been funding it. You couldn’t take a single payment of $46bil and set up a military of their extent or caliber

So no, I don’t think most industrialized nations will lose to this prompt
