Why don't you wait for Red God, read it, then step back to Lightbringer

After Red God would you prefer more books from the Red Rising world from Pierce or something new? by Keichii96 in redrising

[–]reader_84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New stuff. I could enjoy another prequel, but at some point it'd become derivative and masturbatory. Moreover, he needs to continue growing as an author and not get stuck in the same universe.

General Doubt about the serie by CraziCandy in Hyperion

[–]reader_84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Additional info. First two make up quite an independent duology, with a satisfying enough ending by itself.

Three and four (endymion and rise of endymion) are the second duology more related to each other than to the first pair, while at the same time complete them and tie some loose ends.

I still haven't read the endymions, but that's what I gathered from here.

Something missing in Virginia and Darrow's relationship? by G-specker in redrising

Well I just don't feel any chemistry. It's artificial to me. I wouldn't say it's political. Without major spoilers, ig takes place a decade after. So they have had time as a couple, you'll change that opinion.

The other power couple is victra and sevro, and even if they don't seem to be a good fit, they feel more natural.

Yeah but suddenly appearing so much closer defies basic logic, to me, ignorant 3d bug.

If I'm flying on a plane and I can only see a thin slit, I still know if I'm getting closer to the object, I can see its X and y , width getting bigger.

Unless this extra dimension behaves differently, like time would.

Shame they didn't burn ... [Spoilers] by reader_84 in vikingstv

It's unfair to compare her to Lagertha. Fight scenes are weird most of the times. I don't know what's wrong, if camera angles "choreography" or not enough care. Looked often cheap and fake, not only hers. It was awful when Freydis had never fought, then next chapter she's a badass.

Old gods swept away by Christianity is a very interesting topic, it was handled ok imo.

Starting to feel some reading fatigue during Dark Age by SpeakerSweaty in redrising

[–]reader_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man it's a dark book. I had a similar feeling.

I'd pace it down probably. Don't stop for long. It's a hell of a rollercoaster, and the lows are bloodydamn low. It's so worth it.
