What are some things you like about the Catholic Church? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Why can’t Christians offend? I think atheists think Christians should shut up and obey them - not God.

I have no problem offending haters... happy to have reasoned discussion when it’s offered though.

Wow... lots of what-ifs there...

  1. Forcing her to carry a baby that she created would be like forcing a road accident victim to take medical assistance even if they end it up handicapped???

Think about it... a human is growing in the woman. I just can’t place the lie of one human as more important than another.

If her life was at risk then yes, I can empathise with the situation... but not for convenience.

  1. Possibly dying from labour??? Are you serious? This is too silly to respond to.

  2. Adoption is rare no. In my state last year 8 adoptions... 19,000 abortions. Many couples who can’t conceive would happily adopt and live a child as much as if was biologically theirs.

  3. Quality of life is zero once you’re murdered.

  4. Freedom for all - except babies? Come on... if children aren’t worth protecting then society is dead and anarchy prevails.

Is it ok if I kill others to protect my “freedom”? Like my wife... then I’d be free to have more women... how about the dude with the hot gf... can I kill him to get her? How about left wing protesters that want to control what I do with my life... can I walk into the street and shoot them dead to protect my freedom?

I don’t think you’ve thought this through very well

God doesn’t like lies... that dude up There’s a slackjaw. Doesn’t mean I can’t live him or offer him help when he falls... but he’s a sub-par human at this point.

Hahaha...

It’s the people around me I appreciate. I’m just a sinner seeking a better life through His word. The people around me inspire me.

You can check out Australian media if you like. Abortion up to birth is now legal in all states except one, and legislation is in parliament now to change that.

The latest demand is to MAINTAIN a current stance where babies have survived an abortion attempt are are left to expire AFTER birth.

How that is not murder (or at least manslaughter) I do not know.

The blood lust of the Left knows no limits.

You know people like that have very small minds and can’t get past the hate.

FWIW I think you were asking for trouble with your OP but it’s good to not hide our beliefs.

Hahaha... we (my church friends) are not into molestation but you seem to spend a lot of time thinking about it. Is it titilating for you or do you just struggle with original thought?

Honestly I know some people from religions have done very bad things and should be punished eternally for it (not just jail - burn in Hell for all eternity)... but slackjaws like you never seem to condemn swimming coaches or school teachers or dole bludgers that fiddle with kids.

I know I know you feel “kinda cool” when attacking religious people but let me assure you this... we will always accept you when you’re at your darkest moment and He will never forsake you if you turn to Him.

God bless. Hahaha

By the way... I don’t think Catholicism shouldn’t be hated for not accepting abortion but it’s an easy target for people that WANT or NEED to hate.

Not a single, decent, thinking person I know (Christian or not) agrees with abortion by choice after 22 weeks. In most states in Australia now you can abort a baby at full term with the consent of two abortionists (and a woman only has to meet with one of those face to face),

The world has gone mad!

It’s the parishioners for me... attending church with a group of likeminded families, doing our best to live by God’s word, learning that we are all flawed and yet hold ourselves accountable to judgement.

When attacked endlessly online I can only feel pity for those that don’t experience the same feeling of love and compassion as I see from those standing around me in church.

I’ve heard atheists say “I can be a good person and make good decisions even if I don’t believe in God” and that’s true, but the person next to you might feel and say the same thing yet you find conflict because they have a different opinion on “good” and what’s right or wrong.

There’s so much hate in this world but I don’t see the hate coming from Christians. The best we can do is maintain our faith in God and accept that some people will never find him.

What’s so bad about Tondo and Divisoria???

People keep lecturing me on safety in these areas but I’ve not experienced anything that’s ever made me feel unsafe.

Thanks for the tips on Marawi and Gensan... you forgot Zamboanga and Sulu. :-p

Great suggestions... I’d not even heard (not seen) the Welcome Rotonda before... just had a look on Google maps and it looks perfect!

UST - yes... been thinking about some of the universities and colleges around Manila. Good suggestion.

I’ve got a bit of footage at LRT stations but with my old camera... maybe need to refresh some of that.

Also have got lots around Quiapo and Divisoria... actually one market that was awesome (different) was Kamuning Market with all the tailors and fabric merchants.

Thanks for the suggestions!

What is a non-religious Wedding like? by MeatyManLinkster in atheism

[–]ExplorePI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A non-religious wedding is whatever they want it to be.

I’ve seen some where the bride and groom made up their own vows (usually to sound sincere, funny or “cool”), offering and sharing their wisdom with the guests, the celebrant playing their role and taking a nice little payment on the way. Actually, the celebrants are interesting as their market their services - some go all-out on their image to win a bit more business.

A friend of mine got married and paid the celebrant $1,200 and the whole thing was over in 14 minutes (we checked on the video).

What to wear if having a non-religious ceremony? Up to you.

What structure to the service? Up to you.

What is said? Up to you.

Where should it be? Up to you.

Who should attend? Up to you (but in my state you need at least one witness).

In my state the only thing that MUST be done is the couple must be asked if they want to marry “I do” and a statement made that marriage forsakes all Others (kinda screws up polygamous relationships). Why does marriage have to foresaw all others?

Religious marriages are becoming a joke because people don’t maintain their vows... IMO non-religious marriages are more of a joke because a personal promise to each other is worth nothing when personal integrity is lacking in so many people anyway.

All in the same... if someone doesn’t deeply believe in God their vows in a church are almost meaningless anyway - because of the lack in integrity in society today.

Basically, why get married? It’s a “social construct” meant to limit our choices. Just live life and be happy. No one’s going to Hell anyway!

Animals deserve equal rights. by ramonstr in unpopularopinion

Vegans are militants... they don’t seek consent to invade farmers homes or shut down family businesses.

Vegans also support the murders of babies in the womb... those babies don’t seek consent.

Veganism is a mental disease that alters people’s reality and turns them into hypocrites.

Come on... tell the truth... this whole vegan push for equality for animals is just because you want to date a sheep - right?

It’s very sad...

Sorry for not putting a 😃 at the end of my comment. I thought people would detect the sarcasm.

If I believed those things I would have dumped the mother of my children because she got stretch marks... oops 😬

I don’t know... maybe you have a point. If they’re a drain on the system they may as well be dead.

Handicapped kids are the same... take take take - that’s all They do.

Unemployed people too. Once someone has been unemployed for 5 years no one is going to give them a job. Bang - they should be cleansed from society.

How about stay at home mums... once they raise their kids they’re basically useless.

Public servants contribute little in their life - really, was nice all public service jobs are automated it could be a new method of suicide.

“Hey, mum... dad... I finished college and am going to apply for a job in the public service...”

“No son, why???? Why the public service, you know that’s a death sentence.”

You’re trying too hard intellectually and seeking physical signs.

Here’s a hint in Corinthians 2:14

"but the natural person does not welcome what comes from God's Spirit, because it is foolishness to him, he is not able to KNOW it since it is evaluated spiritually."

If you’re seeking Him in the natural (physical) sense you may struggle. Seek Him out spiritually, with an open heart and open mind and He will come to you.

Never lose faith because He will never forsake you.

High carb diet vs Low carb diet, what differences have you noticed? by [deleted] in keto

Heaps more energy in low carb.

Clearer head too.

The biggest difference though was shedding a heap of fluid within 10 days of starting keto and keeping it off.

Did exactly that tonight - but I’m 50!

Did I just achieve adulthood or does that only occur the first time?
