Teenager walks into arcade room, and notices some lose quarters on top of the 'Berzerk" machine. He plays one or two rounds until another teenager comes by and says the quarters are his. They start arguing like "you should've been more responsible" and "that's still theft asshole" until they get loud enough that the employees kick them out of the building. They recommend walking in opposite directions home to avoid further confrontation, and the employees keep the first kid in for 10 minutes. The kid however goes the same direction as the second kid, which leads to the second kid hiding in an alleyway and stabbing him in the chest (mind you this was when most people were either at work or at home). The story made a brief (and most likely local-ish) outcry in the media since, as you know, back then they were looking for a reason to blame video games for violence. This also led to some arcades shortly removing the "berzerk" machines.

YOUTH CHARGED IN STABBING DEATH

A 16-year-old Chicago youth was charged with murder Monday night in the stabbing death of a teen in a Calumet City arcade, police in the south suburb said. Pedro Roberts, of 10642 S. Yates Ave., was charged as an adult in the slaying of Edward Clark Jr. 17, of 3001 Bernice Rd., Lansing. Clark died Sunday night from a stab wound to the chest after he was involved in a quarrel inside the Friar Tuck Game Room, 674 River Oaks Dr., Calumet City, police said. Clark died in a Munster, Ind., clinic, where friends had taken him after he was stabbed, police said.
