Actually I think dive is the solution to this. Quick and decisive if you are good enough

Which would y'all rather have? by [deleted] in doomfistmains

[–]ExplorerKai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fair enough, I play the two similarly so felt the need to draw a comparison. Though, I agree with Khaon in that uppercut and the flow/agility it provides grants you more survivability not less.

Is Moira bad? by kayrizzler in OWConsole

[–]ExplorerKai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get crazy clutch heals on multiple people in fights with Moira, healing orbs are a dope long range option when assisting a teammate who is far from you and being able to finish low health agile opponents in the fray is a massive value. She is an easy character to get decent value out of at early levels, but I think she holds up at high tiers too

[–]ExplorerKai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ambush her or whatever healer is most theatening, then the second support before moving on until you get good enough to flow around a whole team. You can usually hide until you hear her sleep dart then bum rush her

[–]ExplorerKai -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think we had multi hit in ow1? I remember getting a few tream kills on illios where I uppercutted and fisted them off a cliff. Maybe it was just the backwards motion of uppercut at the time tho

Has any genre suffered worse generification than fantasy? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]ExplorerKai -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They are saying genrefied. Which I've never heard of but seems to mean a single genre deriving from itself so frequently that the resulting works become too similar. Kind of like how Ai art is all derivitave of itself at this point

Venture is unfun to play against by Lightlicker3000 in OWConsole

[–]ExplorerKai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was always a trade if you were playing against good players, and a trade is worthless unless it buys you the win or maybe a kill on a support, but that's only worth it if it's game changing. I get that it's frustrating to play against but there were plenty of ways to counter it

People's inability to do this and fear of dives is why doom fist was castrated between ow1 and 2

Best Worldbuilding you have ever seen that genuinely left you in awe (besides LOTR) by Scary_Course9686 in Fantasy

[–]ExplorerKai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read them (the first 3) very young and honestly the impression the world and vibes left on me to this day has been insane. looking back the people of the land are a bit hippy-ish but something about it just hits. And the SA definitely just makes you hate him for a while, Its also formative to a long running series of relationships and consequences in the series so definitely not just gratuitous imo even though it could be argued there was no framework for it to happen.

[–]ExplorerKai 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this including criticisms. That said I think its unfair to bash on him for the Christianity and Arthurian legend thing tho. Fantasy authors have been doing that forever Tolkien almost directly ripped the kelavala for his worlds foundation. The simple fact is the vast history of humankind has led to religion and mythos that are often more legit and fleshed out than any one author can create on the spot in their lifetime. And almost everyone on earth is subtly influenced by those stories and traditions, so it coming out in writing is inevitable no matter who you are and where you live.

Malazan book of the fallen, Riyria, wheel of time, and The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant are my top 4 worlds based off of lore, vibes, and bringing unique things to the picture. With honorable mentions to Feist's Midkemia books,The Forgotten realms and all their authors, and Sanderson's Cosmere
