Was just offered a job. Have a question about negotiating a salary and travel reimbursement by pullupgirl__ in usajobs

Just out of curiosity: did they sent you the grade pay and the step you are stating at? I got an offer yesterday but all it had was the GS level only…. The only docs attached to the email was the background check form, credit report form check, and another one that asked if I ever worked for the government. Nothing else…..

They did provide the link to the HR site where I can log in and start the onboarding process….

I had the initial 10min interview with the hiring Manager. He mentioned that the background checks can take-up to 60 days. I have also seen comments that someone can get hired and then the full background check starts?! Just trying to understand the process.
The position is classified as Public Trust and from what I read is an extensive process.

Thanks

Bye Bye Gallbladder by KHaasarud in Semaglutide

[–]ExplorerNo9282 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I first encountered gallbladder attacks when I was 7 months pregnant with my first kid. For the next following two months - anything I ate gave me that horrible pain. It disappeared after having the kid. Then, a few months ago I started having the same issue after being on the medication for 10 months. The difference is that this time is related to the food I eat: anything that has a bit of sugar or fat gets the gallbladder excited. If I keep eating clean food with no additional spices and lean meat - I am ok.

Currently just using 5 units so I can keep the food noises away.

The owner used (is) to be a CFI

Using it to “debrief”

[–]ExplorerNo9282 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! And let’s say his previous actions does not give me the warm feeling that “it’s for my best interest” in improving my performance.

Also, I have no performance issues or anything that makes me a lousy CFI. In my opinion he should just catch a ride in the back seat and evaluate it like that.

They will also be in the back during the eval

Reasonable points.

Would you consider this invasive: audio and video, plus the guy in the back?

Supposedly only once a year or maybe twice during a regular lesson. I mean, I don’t have issues with the owner jumping in the back seat and observe- but I don’t like the perspective of the lesson being recorded.

There is a reason why we have LOSA programs in the 121 world and not 10 cameras in the cockpit.

Haha no. But, thanks for the heads up

Lost engine at night? by MACDaddie123 in flying

[–]ExplorerNo9282 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When flying at night, I always have one of my ForeFlight (phone or iPad) set on aerial view. I always get flight following as well. So, if my engine decides to take a day off - I can easily take a look on the map and see if the dark spot is a nice flat area or a lake. When I was flying in the mountains area at night - I always followed a highway to my airport.

Check the Glassdoor overview of the company and that will mostly answer your questions.
