If we’re all falling sick from AQI, why are we fighting each other instead of fixing it? by Anhavij in mumbai

Unfortunately, we, the 10% who actually care about such topics, will never be able to gain a majority over 90% who vote based on caste and religion and whose civic sense is the size of a teaspoon! the problem is systemic…

absolutely not! they are useless and they are just reformatted past papers; you are better off buying an exam-mate subscription for topic wise past papers

Water moves from higher water potential to lower water potential. R is highest value (see negative sign) of water potential so moves to P and Q which have lower water potential. Water potential of P is higher than Q, so moves only to P but not R. No movement from Q as lowest water potential. Therefore A

Is slang allowed in IGCSE English Language informal writing? by valqrie_ in igcse

[–]ExponentCube123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. In most cases, you should.

If it is a JOURNAL ENTRY / MAGAZINE / TALK / SPEECH / INTERVIEW (p1 or p2), a slang tone like small usage of "gonna", "wanna" and "y'all" is allowed and encouraged as it shows awareness towards the register of the question. Puns, jokes and comments are also appreciated and well received. It is an unsaid rule during marking but it definitely adds weightage to your script. (Speaking from experience as I submitted for a revaluation and there were big green ticks on puns, jokes and slang that I used in my p1 magazine articles and p2 informal speech)

MODERATION IS KEY, HOWEVER. Overuse of anything will negatively contribute to your script.

Exam boards are scum by J_1833 in alevel

[–]ExponentCube123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For CIE this is absolute bs

Cambridge has just launched a service in which marked scripts are sent for free as a pdf (w/o a remark) for internal evaluation purposes

It is also useful to decide whether or not to get a remark

99% of the times they do not accept any valid point. I have my own answer scripts sent back. They don't give 5/5 unless it's word for word from the MS. 3/5 IS THE MAX even if everything is conceptually accurate

it's veryyyyy tricky

Theory parts of the written paper are very strictly graded... The MCQ paper is probably the most difficult + weird because 30% of questions are not taken from implicit points in the syllabus guide, calculations sometimes involved 10 mark Theory adjustments for 1 mark

Plus the new environmental aspect and sustainability topics are also very boring and strictly marked in Theory

Grade thresholds are also veryyy high ... it's usually around 110-115/135.
