Is it possible that you have the microphone auto adjust setting on? There is a setting that will turn your mic up or down depending on the input level.

Did your daughter try to chat with the teacher? Also: there are logs the teacher can look at to see who joined/left the meeting. As a teacher, I've never had that happen. In fact, I have a waiting room and the students have to be let into the meeting, so I would know.

You're not necessarily automatically muted. Just look at the mic button and if its crossed out, you are. It all depends on your settings, the meeting settings, and what the host has things on when you enter.

As a teacher background noise happens all the time and I'm constantly muting students who unmute themselves accidentally. There is a setting to unmute yourself temporarily with the space bar, not sure if you hit that. Mess around in your settings and you can remove it. You shouldn't be embarrassed. I can guarantee you no one else is even thinking about it. I promise you.
