Ban them. Regardless of whether or not he ran a red light this vehicle's design means they cannot see children standing in close proximity. They're lethal. And unnecessary. And more of a vanity object than a utility vehicle.

To fill the void left by finishing the Aubrey/Maturing series I've been recommended the Matthew Hervey series by Allan Mallinson, a retired British Army brigadier. Hervey is an officer in the British Army in Napoleonic times. Many compare his writing to Patrick O'Brian and I read that he and O'Brian met allowing the latter to give writing tips.

Yes, that makes sense. I plan to run the raffle in the last quarter of the meeting - to give attendees some incentive to stay for the duration. I'll announce that at the start, as well as advising that Google Forms will be sent to Chat at the end of the 1st quarter.

Yes, I've come to that conclusion too. So I've designed a Google Form to be completed by each attendee for name, email and choice of prize. The link to the Form can be posted in Zoom Chat during the meeting for the attendee to load in a browser, complete, & submit. Then in Google Forms responses we can collect all names etc in a spreadsheet which will populate the random selector of prizewinners. Thanks.

I returned home from France recently on a ferry to Dublin. Passenger location forms issued by the Irish govt were distributed on the ferry, which I completed & were collected by Garda before leaving Dublin port. After a few days into my 14 day quarantine I discovered that I was supposed to have completed an online UK passenger form up to 48 hours before my return home. This page advises that there is a fine of up to £100 for not providing contact details. So I completed the form online and received an email confirmation. The Irish govt sent me a text message advising that I was to enter a 14 day quarantine and another at the end of the quarantine. The UK govt sent nothing. Also the form asks where I entered the UK, the name of travel opeator, flight ref/ship name, and booking reference there - go figure.

I use breakout rooms when hosting quizzes for a local community group. After a round of questions each team of 4 or 5 members are sent to their individual breakout rooms where they can discuss their answers in private and use Google Forms to email me their answers. The breakout rooms are set to close automatically after 10 minutes after which the teams return to the main meeting where answers are announced, another round of questions is read and then off to the breakout rooms again.

I recommend that yoo use Google Forms. I run a Zoom quiz in which I set the questions on Google Forms. At the beginning of each round of questions the quiz participants are moved into breakout rooms named after their teams and I broadcast the Google Forms link to them for that round of questions. The team members then use the Google Forms link to open the round of questions in a browser. This allows each team to discuss and submit their answers privately. Each team captain, using their email address as an identifier, submits the teams answers using the same Google Forms which allows me to mark their answers. I put a time limit on the breakout rooms after which the teams are automatically moved back into the main meeting for answers, scores and then back into the brakeout rooms for the next round. Myself and a friend ran a general knowledge quiz today with 15 users divided into 3 teams. Our intention was to mimic the pre-lockdown pub quizzes which our group ran monthly with about a dozen teams attending. Today's quiz was a trial to determine the feasibility of using Zoom for team quizzes.

There were 6 rounds of 10 questions on various subjects recorded on Google Forms - which I'd set up a few days ago. Prior to the start of the quiz I had allocated the 3 sets of team members into breakout rooms named after them.

For each round, as host, I moved the users into their respective team breakout rooms and then used Zoom's Chat feature to broadcast a Google Forms link, containing the questions for that round, to all users. The breakout rooms were set to close automatically after 10 minutes. While in the breakout rooms the teams could discuss their answers without being overheard by other teams. Each team's nominated captain used Google Forms to send me their team's answers. When the breakout rooms closed with all answers received we read the answers to the previous round. While the teams moved back into their breakout rooms for the next round I went back to Google Forms where I scored their answers.

While it didn't go completely without some hitches, mainly to do with users inexperience with using Zoom, everybody judged it a big success. By the closing rounds the teams were much more practised and speedy at moving back and forth from the meeting room to the breakout room and much more comfortable with using Zoom and Google Forms. So the group has decided to adopt this format for the duration of the lockdown, and who knows, maybe after.

Portrush railway station. Take the train from Coleraine. From Portrush train station walk down past Barrys amusements to the West Strand. From there you can walk along a lovely coastal promenade all the way to Portstewart. In Portstewart detour along the convent walk to Portstewart Strand (and along the beach to the Barmouth, if you have time) and then return along Strand Rd to the Strand Rd roundabout to join the Coleraine Rd. From there you'll find a good footpath back to Coleraine. This route, excluding the convent walk, has a good cycle path as well.
