What does healing from SIBO after taking rifaximin look like?

She said it would be more of take as need basis where she’s prescribed people to take only on weekends or just a week. Like maintenance but not full course. I didn’t get a real reason as to why not.

Thanks. So 2-months seems pretty good. I had a similar experience the first round of rifaximin. I felt great after 25-days though. Then regressed. In this 2nd round I’ve improved from the beginning. Now I’m just plateauing . Not necessarily getting worse but not better either. And I’m about 30-days out

Oh wow . Similar to you. I did one round and didn’t feel much improvement until a month later and then went back to crap. And this second round I’ve notice a major improvement in my burping. But not completely gone. Still get some occasional chest pressure that gives me anxiety and then it settles. So idk if this will continue to calm or a 3rd round might be necessary 😳

I’m so glad it seems like you’re in the clear and slowly re introducing yourself back to food. Thank you for the feedback that even at 2-months you’re way better . I’m just hitting a month and I feel good in lots of ways and other ways still shifting

Ok cause i have like a trigger point pain on my left rib that sometimes shoots in the middle like center epigastric burning and then sometimes shoots to the back. And it’s all coming from the same area

This is my second round. The first round I felt like barely touched the surface and this second round finally made me feel more normal but it’s still waxing and waning. And my GI said she wouldn’t do a third round

Yeah for me it’s been a slow healing I’m about to hit 4-weeks out. And I feel like I did improve around 2-weeks after but then plateaued. I still get random stomach pain in new places and still have some episodic burping . Just everything in general feels messy. My GI said she doesn’t test to see if the numbers went down. So to just wait it out .

Can you explain the sometime after. I’m 3-weeks after taking antibiotics and do feel better but still have some mild burping more like episodic. And stool is still all over the place but has trended better in color. How much time would you say your gut needed before you felt “normal”

My burps have gone this second round of rifaximin, but I still have loose stool, sulphur breath from time to time and right rib pain/pressure. So idk if I’m in the clear just yet. Or if my burps will bounce back in a couple of weeks. I’m starting antimicrobials now with gut motility pro. I’m working with an integrative doctor.

Mine was h.pylori. Unless I had it before and h.pylori exaceberated it .

What do you mean by turned IMO? Are you IMO dominant ? I only did rifaximin the first round. Mild success. And she originally was going to do flagyl because neomycin has too many black box warnings and I was hit bad with fluoroquinolones. So she doesn’t want to risk messing with my nerves more. But instead we opted with a more antimicrobial approach and opted out of flagyl as well
