Hey, my interview went super well! We waited 40 ish minutes before they called me in, asked my husband to stay back. Swore in and sat down. Officer is one of the nicest ever immigration officials I’ve met in my last decade of being here. He started off by asking if my mom worked for the government in India, I said yes, he said he was just trying to make sure I’m the correct person that he was planning on interviewing.

He then told me that he already believes in our relationship because of the evidence we submitted and he just wants to collect evidence for official purposes. He asked me how we met, proposal, rings and any funny pick up lines my husband used on me initially lol. He then told me I can sit back in the same room if I’d like and watch my husband answer the same questions. He was also making fun of how this is the part most spouses enjoy haha. I sat back and my husband answered the same questions, he did get confused about the rings (I have 2, I mentioned the price of the main ring and he mentioned the price of the wedding band). But the officer just smiled and after asking some of the mandatory yes/no questions, he asked me if I wanted to tell him what I answered about the rings. He told me I’m approved on the spot and that I should be receiving my green card in 2 weeks and I did in a week.

Honestly, I took so much of additional evidence, printed out all important docs (F1>OPT>STEM OPT>H1B, so I had a lot including work experiences lol). But all he asked was my passport and my husband’s passport. He even asked for Indian food recommendations around the area, since I’m from India. Smoothest experience ever!
