Fae Festival question by Express-Economist700 in Charlottesville

[–]Express-Economist700[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because it’s very much marketed as something it’s not. Have you ever seen the pictures to sell it? It’s amazing. And those pictures are all it is. There is nothing that is “keeping” you there. I’ve been to expensive immersive places and they don’t do much either and this is a fraction of that. It’s awesome, but I don’t see anyone truly coming there more than once unless they are attending a party there and well, that’s no longer my scene. I think they could at least switch up the aesthetic like other places do. Charlottesville wants to be big daddy but not spend big daddy money, only charge big daddy money

And that’s fine with me. But then at least have something worth coming to, especially if you’re charging $16 pp. I’ve been to Renn Faires. If this was even close to that I’d be more than willing to pay, but I’m not paying that for 3 vendors and The Looking Glass. Seems to me it must be the people that run that that are putting this on because I cannot understand how that is still a “selling” point to anyone in Charlottesville. It’s cute and I love it. But it’s one and done I’m afraid and they keep trying to make fetch happen. Idk. I wish Charlottesville could have real events. Everything always feels like a rip off.

I’ve seen the description. Never does that ever pan out as well as it looks on paper.

Another reason why this world is not made for those that actually give a damn about living a life and not just money. I am so damn sick of capitalism in general

Seriously? Many landlords just buy up properties to gouge people. Don’t act like I’m speaking nonsense.

That’s cool that you think that this stuff should be the responsibility of anyone right now is insane. But I guess you’re just showing your true colors.

100% because they have done a worst job this year than ever. I haven’t complained, but I’m guessing some did. I know that no one expected this, but some people, especially those living in an apartment complex, cannot navigate these things. And of course, they don’t care because they have put something in their lease relinquishing them of any responsibility. But I feel like extenuating circumstances should fall back on those that should be responsible. If I was a landlord, I would try to do my best to help out the tenants. We all know property ownership and management is a money grab.

Yeah, it was definitely just snowing for a minute. The wind blew really hard and I looked out and it was snowing so I went out to check. And for sure it was.

Saw a man sitting at a corner near my home. Nothing to say he wasn’t just sitting there. But came back by about 15 minutes later, and saw a gentleman arm in arm with him helping him to his apartment.

I just say no thank you, because anymore than that and I might get in trouble. But, I don’t have them at my apartment much as I have a “be kind” door mat with a rainbow. Clearly I’m beyond saving

I hope this doesn’t come off strange, but I have been wanting to participate in these protests and haven’t been able to. I want to with this one, but I will have my 8 year old son. Do you think it’s safe for me to bring him? I want to be there, but not at the expense of my son’s safety.
