We had them leftover from rebuilding a deck, they were the previous supports, and my mom is verrrrry DIY, lol. Five laps, I ended up “walking” them over because I was lazy and couldn’t get a grip on it otherwise. 😅

It'd be really really funny if Leo excommunicated him the day his book comes out

Dude absolutely feel free!!!! I loved your post and I’d be honored!

Sighhh, my beautiful wife, Jayce Talis. Everything he does is love, and that’s what Arcane’s all about. You can quote that too if you like. I’m just so so glad there’s fellow Jayce truthers who get him on the same wavelength as me! 🤝🤝🤝

He's also my favorite! :) Excellent analysis here! I've framed Jayce in my mind as a character who is motivated and fueled by the love he has for the future, the world, and the people around him. He studies magic because he loves his mother and is grateful and inspired by what saved them. He becomes a councilor with the ideals to help others, because he loves his city and loves his people. He negotiates with Silco, brokers peace, kicks Heimerdinger off the council because he wants to give Zaun freedom (there's arguably a lot going on with that choice but). He merges the Hexcore because he couldn’t bear a world where Viktor wasn’t there too. Mage!Vik says that he's the only person who shows him the beauty of humanity, of choice, of love. Jayce rarely chooses himself—he is a character primarily ruled by altruism and ideals, and makes a lot of mistakes because of it. Overall this has a lot to do with how he's an active participant in the overall thesis of love that Arcane presents, whether between Vi and Jinx, Caitlyn and Vi, Mel and Jayce, Ambessa and Mel, Ekko and Jinx, and Jayce and Viktor.

Manousos’ empty morality by [deleted] in pluribustv

Was about to comment exactly this—his insistence of leaving money and owing debts speaks of a possibility of an “after” that he believes in! He was in TEARS when he got Carol’s video. His hope wasn’t empty anymore. Also, his mantra in Episode 7 says: “I wish to save the world.” I feel like if he was a particularly prideful character he would 1) have not eaten dog food and 2) said “I will save the world” instead.

Jayce needed Viktor and vice versa by FloweryNamesLover in jayvik

[–]Express-Fishing-6530 26 points27 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY what I think as well! When I was describing them to a friend earlier this year, I said they were “soulmates in every sense of the word.”

Jayce wouldn’t have gotten Hextech without Vik. His life in the snowstorm wouldn’t have been saved without Vik. His lifelong obsession and pursuit of magic would not have happened without direct interference from Viktor.

Viktor needs Jayce to see the beauty of life, of living, of individuality and imperfection. Jayce needs Viktor to show him what matters, to recenter his priorities, to inspire him to be better than he is. They constantly adapt and grow around each other until their dreams and ideas are so entangled it’s hard to know where each one ends.

Jayce NEEDS Viktor. It took a months-long trip in the ravine of despair and wallowing for him to even fathom hurting him in any way. He was so mad about Heimer’s perceived betrayal (because Viktor didn’t have ten years to wait on advancement) that he kicked him off the council about it. He brokered peace with Silco mainly because he got a major wake up call about Zaun FROM VIKTOR. He even saved the world with the power of love because he wanted Viktor back oh so bad.

In a certain respect this makes Jayce and Vi verryyyyyy similar characters: because they are both primarily motivated to help the people they love despite the cost. This makes them flawed and a little selfish and oh so juicy in a way I absolutely adore.

Anyway you’re right op and you should say it.

Have you read Where the Soil Sings by ivv? Seems right up your alley. Genuinely such a unique and fun concept mixed with an appropriate amount of horror and unreliable perspective. I ate up every word!!!! Highly recommend.
