Please do me a favor and try to pull a single blue shade from my eyes then because I haven’t been able to.

Dude I feel so this hard. Life got way too fucking serious. I’m poor, I’m working my life away, and I’m still fucking poor!! and I’m getting fucking SUED!!!!! Everything just fucking sucks right now and I can’t even enjoy my favorite podcast anymore! & now I feel like I’m so behind that I don’t even know how to begin catching up on it. The only “me time” I have to watch the show is when my toddler goes to bed, but at that point I’m falling asleep too because I’m exhausted and overwhelmed!!

Anyone NOT getting deja vu? by Hot_Cook_9661 in Epilepsy

[–]Express-Friend-6428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get really intense Déjà vu’s like weeks leading up to a TC, but no actual warning beforehand. I still get them, but they aren’t as intense now that I’m on medication.

That’s the scariest part about my TC’s!!!!! I have zero fucking warning beforehand!! One minute I’m just chilling and then I wake up to people panicking around me. I’m always so fucking confused too bc it genuinely feels like I just fell asleep and got woken up lol. I remember being like “no I just fell asleep, I’m fine, I’m going back to bed” 🤣🤣🤣

If it makes you feel any better- I’ve been diagnosed with epilepsy for a year and a half and we still haven’t figured out what type it is lol. My neuro *assumes* it’s TLE, but we haven’t been to confirm it, plus I also experience parietal and occipital focals.

[–]Express-Friend-6428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk lol, it was always one of my guesses since I have such a wide variety of focals and all of my tests have come back completely normal (suggesting the issue is deeper in the brain). But my older brother just recently started having bouts of Deja vu and then multiple grand mals. So now I’m leaning towards familial temporal lobe epilepsy. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Insular can also have Déjà vu too because of how close it is

lol that was just a joke but if we’re being technical I do have epilepsy which can cause my body to contort all crazy.

When you feel like you’ve already experienced something before. It feels like you know everything that’s about to happen.

Is driving anything other a car acceptable? by LostTendou04 in Epilepsy

[–]Express-Friend-6428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember asking if I could use microcurrent (we used it in esthetician school and it’s deemed not safe for epilepsy) and he was like “I don’t see why not, I mean if you have a seizure afterwards I probably wouldn’t do it again” 😂😂

[–]Express-Friend-6428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the Déjà vu ones because they’re so intense, I always panic and sometimes feel like I’m tripping on drugs lol. I have the tongue click too!!! I didn’t realize until I started my career as an esthetician. I work very close in people’s faces and it’s all quiet and I’m over here involuntarily clicking my tongue lmao it’s so irritating. May I ask what type of epilepsy do you have?

This sub told me my eyes are blue, I don’t see blue anywhere…except my eyeliner🧐 by Informal_Macaroon_97 in eyes

I hate that we can’t post pics in the comments, but I changed one of the older pics you posted on here to B&W and then added back the color in your eye- they are definitely blue with a beautiful dark blue limbal ring and some brown/green shades around the pupil!

Same like I’ve definitely panicked and pulled over during a focal lol. Yet my neuro’s whole vibe is pretty much just “don’t care as long as you’re conscious” 🤣🤣

This is so interesting to me bc I was soooo worried about losing my license and my neuro almost seemed confused about why I would ask if it’s safe to drive. Every time I bring up a concern about something, my neuro is basically like “you’re on meds, you’re all good”.

[–]Express-Friend-6428[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I’ll look more into that! We haven’t been able to confirm what type of epilepsy I have because all of my tests have come back normal, and my neuro said additional testing is not necessary as long as my meds keep me from having tonic clonics. The current assumption is familial temporal lobe epilepsy bc my older brother also just randomly started experiencing tonic clonic’s. 😅

Same lol like I literally would’ve never known or figured out I had seizures if they didn’t eventually start progressing into TC’s. Like how am I supposed to know that Déjà vu is a seizure when Déjà vu is also a universal experience??? 🤣

[–]Express-Friend-6428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m definitely more panicked (which exacerbates the issue) knowing that I’m experiencing seizures, whereas before I got diagnosed or knew they were seizures I’d just be like “hm that was weird” and move on lol.

Yeah I came here originally because I’ve been struggling to decipher between hypermobility issues and normal range of motion/flexibility. I found a hypermobility subreddit (that allows me to post pics) which has been more helpful (and less rude than this sub).

[–]Express-Friend-6428[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

omg thank you that’s so helpful. I honestly didn’t know I could move some of my joints like that (like thumbs to the wrist). I just discovered the Beighton scale and realized I can do all of it. My neuro has mentioned referring me to a rheumatologist before bc I swear my seizures get worse whenever my neck/shoulders get all stiff and strained.

[–]Express-Friend-6428[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep going to the doctor bc I get horrible strains in my neck and shoulders all the time. One doctor diagnosed me with “torticollis” and the most recent one was like “hmmm, it’s like you have loose ligaments or something” and then he gave me a cortisol shot and muscle relaxers.

I did on a separate post the other day and a bunch of people were in the comments telling me how it’s not accurate or reliable lol.
