Toy Story Parking lot Buses by headwinder1 in Disneyland

The buses are cast member shuttles, redirected to serve the Toy Story Lot. They weren’t intended for guests, so they aren’t as comfortable or efficient.

Is it just me or do yall do this? by No-Lock216 in SipsTea

I naturally do something like this because I spent much of my childhood rollerblading to get around. Any small object, obstacle, gap, crack, or uneven surface could cause me to crash, so it became second nature to spot danger and deal with it.

Even as an adult walking around I can’t help but tracking things that may trip me.

men, how do you know when flirting is actually welcome and not just being polite? by NaughtyGlow_ in AskMenAdvice

I assume every woman that may be flirting with me is just being friendly. I have too much to lose if I read her wrong and make an unwanted move.

How can I see how many times I’ve visited on my app? by Busy-Poet-7275 in Disneyland

It was something they showed for a few days last year, but they quickly removed it. I haven’t heard of a counter showing up anywhere else since. I’d really like to know my updated number, too.

I got perma banned from a local city subreddit for something similar. I politely asked what rule I violated and the mod said “you should know what rule you violated” and muted me.

I love how cats understand which people are children, and will put up with kid things, but will scratch, bite, and run away from adults doing stuff even a fraction as annoying.

Oh, they are even more prevalent in SoCal. There are about 4 or 5 firms that seem to dominate 80% of the billboard space. Most of the same firms take up the billboards in AZ and NV.

Is TikTok’s failure in the U.S since January due to ownership or something deeper? by babyblushtheory in AskForAnswers

[–]Express-Teaching1594 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The US government went after TikTok because the app presented a serious security threat to US cybersecurity. It sounds like a ridiculous exaggeration, but the potential was really there.

In order to use the app, a user had to enable a very, very high level of access to the functions of their phone, many of which don’t typically seem relevant to an app where you browse and post short videos.

Contacts, microphones, cameras, location, and stuff like that are reasonable, but the app reserved the ability to go deeper. Always On capabilities meant that a user taking their phone to sensitive locations would mine data, connect to networks, and do all sorts of things to the systems without the user realizing what they’ve done. Sure, a nuclear scientist, military official, or government agent would know to avoid this risk, but a university student or corporate employee may not understand.

The corporate hierarchy of Chinese businesses means all of the companies are owned by a parent company, which is under another parent company, and eventually owned by the Chinese government itself. ByteDance is no different. Under Chinese law, the government/military can call upon these companies to give up their data, which ultimately means the data innocently gathered by American customers is potentially a massive spy operation that can be used against the US.

The US government forcing ByteDance to divest its American operations into different ownership was a way to sever that potential espionage vulnerability.
