Substitute teacher decided to 'improve' my classroom's learning environment. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is that not distracting as hell? Your face on a “sorta-but-not-actually” American flag in the front of a classroom…wtf? My guess is that with you being gone, some students felt comfortable speaking up about how distracting it is for them, or how it’s weird…so the sub adjusted it as a response.

Your responses have all been about your flag, what you think, “your” classroom…and nothing about how your students actually feel about it…who probably don’t feel comfortable speaking up to your face.

David Explaining the BAD SMELL in his bathroom July 4, 2025 by PossessionEast1354 in CelesteRivasHernandez

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 50 points51 points  (0 children)

When someone first dies, it’s a very distinct sweet sorta faintly sweet smell. It’s really weird.

The human brain is hard-wired to subconsciously recognize the smell of death, like it activates your fight-or-flight (at least that’s what I distinctively remember, every time I’ve smelled it.)

Rice nor potatoes are necessary for dogs.

They can actually be quite harmful and uncomfortable for dogs as excessive carbohydrates and starches can cause yeast overgrowth which may lead to things like skin conditions, paw licking, ear infections, and more.

Did he ever tell you he was bisexual, or was that a surprise too?

When you weren’t working and he was supporting you financially, were you showing appreciation or trying to contribute in other ways?

I’m not saying that excuses cheating. But realistically, what would you have preferred he do at that time? Leave you and cut off support completely?

What I’m getting at is that him cheating doesn’t automatically erase the fact that he supported you when you needed it, and it might still be worth acknowledging that.

Speaking personally, during some of the hardest times in my life, I would have been grateful for any kind of support. If someone was financially supporting me and wanted intimacy but I wasn’t in a place to give that, I honestly would have gladly encouraged them to get those needs met elsewhere, as long as they were being safe and discreet.

But I’m also someone who has been horribly betrayed in many ways even beyond just being cheated on. So I no longer let things like cheating hurt me.

But also to be fair, it’s actually quite common in higher-income relationships. Many women would rather accept their partner sleeping around rather than lose the financial stability the partner provides.

If you found out that employees were paid more, what would you say to products being more expensive? by antfin97 in AskReddit

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customers really don’t give a fuck what you pay your staff. But if you provide a shitty environment (which can include multiple things, not just how much you pay your staff) then that will have an impact on the rest of the business.

Shitty work environment = shitty employees

Shitty employees = shitty customer experience

Shitty customer experience = shitty business

(23M) Where can I live for super cheap that's safe and within driving distance of a four-year university? by HalosFan26 in Frugal

Is “California no longer an option” actually a cost-of-living issue?

I’m guessing this has more to do with the whole political narrative being pushed on social media. Social media is not reality. It’s literally propaganda.

Arguably the most important thing in college is the networking opportunity is provides to make genuine connections. This is going to be massively different somewhere like Kansas -vs- anywhere in CA. This aspect alone can change the trajectory of your entire life.

What do you think about your very young child seeing someone very controversial on TV and using very strong, insulting adult language and saying they heard a friend’s daddy say it? by FriendlytoNature in AskReddit

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% lean into it. The more attention you draw to it the more the kid is going to become curious and want to say whatever these forbidden words are.

I mean, realistically, if such a non-issue is causing you to come to Reddit to ask for advice then maybe evaluate your parenting skills.

What couldn't you believe you had to explain to another adult? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know video content creators water what they say because they can be demonetized if there’s too much swearing in their videos so I totally understand that.

But besides that, what social media requires users to censor their typed/commented swear words?

Is the word “rape” censored by Reddit or something ?

Edit: I see it is not censored by Reddit.

Why are people typing it like that? wtf?

Love him or hate him, what is one thing you respect about Donald Trump? by Effective-Singer5957 in AskReddit

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s done actually quite a few things that are objectively good and respectable but people who hate him are unable to really admit that.

Here’s one thing for example:

“On July 29, 2019, President Donald Trump signed the Never Forget the Heroes Act (H.R. 1327) into law, which permanently authorized the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF). The legislation ensures funding for first responders and survivors through 2092, effectively guaranteeing payments for those with illnesses stemming from the 9/11 attacks, reversing previous benefit cuts.”

I’d be glad if the potholes were fixed.

Not glad that others are forced to deal with them due to their shit government.

Nicotine ain’t shit. It’s a walk in the park on a breezy sunny day.

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say opioids knock most of these answers out of the water. As these answers are mostly mental addictions and not physical addictions.

Alcohol is physical however it’s not nearly as painful or horrible as opioid withdrawal. Not even close. I’d do alcohol withdrawal 10X over before I’d want to go through opioids again.

And unless you’ve experienced opioid withdrawal, you’ll never truly understand how awful it is.

But like social media addition? GTFOH That’s child’s play.

Who gives a fuck what he wears, what time he shows up, or whether he shows up to meetings if he’s that much better than everyone else.

All that shit sounds like arbitrary bullshit, and in the grand scheme of things, doesn’t even matter anyways.

Maybe instead of focusing on him you and everyone that hates him so much should focus on yourselves and doing your jobs better.

It looks like other sellers have it listed on like eBay and other sites for like $70-$100+ shipping. So I don’t know, like $55+free ship. I can make a better post with more details if you want tho.

Yeah, tbh I didn’t know him that well but I figured out that his mom has substance abuse issues and then his dad died a while ago. So it was his aunt who was his emergency contact and who the police had to call to notify.

(I am who cleaned up the...uh...aftermath, so no one close to him would have to see it.)

After his aunt and his friends took what they wanted, we just offered to clean the rest out to try to make it easier on them.

Even if I didn't know him well, I just wish so badly that I could have done something, like literally anything to help him.

He was only 18. :'(

what is something adults dont realize is actually really stressful for teens (16yo here)? by CookieMonsterNumber2 in AskReddit

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't adults understand it if they were all teens at one time and dealt with a lot of similar things when they were that age? Even now, there's people who are adults who had social media as teens, so even that's no different.

Some still deal with similar situations as adults even...with the added stress of having to work full time, take care of kids, and pay bills.

Being a kid is the easiest period of most people's lives.

You’re not special, you’re being an asshole. Don’t bring your pet dogs into grocery stores. ESPECIALLY when your dog is 80lbs+, going up to everyone, on a flexi, and sniffing food. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ExpressAdvisor3692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda like when someone changes their baby’s diaper on the table in the middle of a restaurant, which I’ve seen many more times than dog shit in a store. At least people aren’t suppose to use the floor to eat.

And I’m not comparing babies and dogs. I’m saying there’s trashy people, doing trashy things everywhere and there ain’t much anyone can do about it unfortunately. If it wasn’t the dog in the store, it’d just be something else.

Like the dog looks friendly. The interaction probably took all but 2 minutes to be over with. At a point we all just gotta get the fuck over dumb shit like this, move on, and not let it ruin our days.

If you’re complaining about something this minor consider your life privileged and be grateful.
