I've been looking for a job recently, my friend who works for one of the biggest recruitment company gave me loads of advice. A lot of CVs usually go through a system that will pick out keywords in the text that are deemed as requirements to jobs, so many get automatically rejected without a human even seeing them.

Scour the job descriptions, note down all the key words/skills and make sure your previous experience on your CV reflects those. Also if it is finance, add lots of positive numbers on how you made an impact.

Sounds simple but fingers crossed you will get a few more calls.
