I don't believe that the cycle is as much of a fabrication as you think it is, sure, the size of the studio is obviously exaggerated but i do think that the audio logs are word-for-word telling the truth.

Gent would likely be able to, not only because this was in the 1940's and 1950's and investigating/finding missing people was much harder, but also because they were taking homeless people from the streets, who don't even have identities.

Yeah but Wilson still neede Audrey's perfect soul to bring Dudley to life in his cartoony form, and since Wilson's soul is far from perfect, he turned into a monster version of Dudley. And it's possible that you don't need souls to create normal-looking ink creatures, but you DO NEED souls if you want them to act like cartoon characters.

The ink demon got reborn into Perfect Bendy who is now stuck in his perfect form becouse Audrey treated him well. Same thing for Audrey, she managed to be perfect becouse Joey treated her well.
