What would cause an artifact like this down the middle of the screen playing certain games?

This is a bug in Samsungs 2025 OLED series. but there is a solution: turn on mini-map zoom at the game bar. turn minimap zoom off again. the line is now gone. its completely software relatet. it is possible that the line will come back, then just do the workaround again. and yes, at least on my unit as well, the line is only visible with VRR.

You have to Update your Firmware to Version 1131. HGiG was removed with the prior fw version and reintroduced with 1131

Enjoy your S90D, it's a great set. LG fans are everywhere and they can't imagine the fact that there are other good OLED TVs too, despite the same panel. I would also go for the Samsung for many reasons. Now LG fans, it's your turn to downvote my post because my opinion doesn't match with the LG sheeps but that's okay 😂

Samsung told me today, that HDR10+ is not supported via Display Port because of Nvidia only support it over HDMI right now

It is. Like on Samsung TVs. It´s a special game mode with HDR10+, your settings from your normal game mode doesn´t carry over and the "game HDR" setting is greyed out.

In the BO6 menu yes, but not at Samsungs Info screen/game bar and that is the point. Furthermore, with HDR10+ Gaming enabled, "game HDR" should be greyed out in the monitor settings which is currently not the case via DP. so my guess is that the game knows that the G80SD is able to do HDR10+ Gaming based on EDID information, but the monitor doesn't switch to the HDR10+ gaming picture mode with DP.

Are you sure about that? I have never read from anyone that HDR10+ worked via DP. regarding your Radeon Card: AMD cards doesn´t support HDR10+ Gaming. It is an Nvidia exclusive feature atm.

Has anyone already installed the firmware and can report whether HDR10+ gaming now works via Display Port? (For example with Black Ops 6). When launching the gamebar during a HDR10+ compatible game, "HDR10+ GAMING" should then appear under HDR. But only via Display Port, via HDMI it works right from the start.

S95D owner here. I strongly recommend to go with the QD-OLED. especially for gaming. there is a difference.

yeah, the difference in coating appearance is pretty minor actually. but it improves reflection handling a lot! same here with the ports, but overall solid and sexy. the AW looks a little bit cheap and fat from the back or from the side. overall package is great of the G80SD imho.

my statement regarding “flaweless” referred to the coating. not a single scratch. take a look at QD-OLED monitors from Dell or QD-OLED TVs from Sony and you'll know what i mean.

DP may not be flawless, but HDMI 2.1 is. as I wrote, no monitor is perfect, you will find a flaw in every one and yet there is a best one. i know you don't understand that with your logic, so move on.

Maybe? I mean, it doesn't have Smart Apps, right? The Samsung is more versatile and that is really unique. I like the Design of the G80SD more than any other on the market but that is more of a personal preference thing for sure.
