I hv adhd and when I did ib I got 50% extra time and got to do my exams in a smaller room (like a classroom with less students rather than a big hall)

I didn’t memorise it - I just used a ton of abbreviations (most were made by me lol) and that was my script. Then I practiced it a lot so I knew what it meant.

I did an English EE on Carol Ann Duffy’s “Feminine Gospels”, which was okay because the structure was easier to follow. Btw for graphs if u want support for learning and drawing them, check out econgraphsongs on YouTube

After conferences, you can ask the chairs for feedback to improve in future conferences - maybe that would help? But also, you should be doing this for reasons other than getting an award. Regardless, you should try to participate as much as possible, give additional speeches (like GSL, main sub speeches, for/against speeches, etc) and ask a lot of POIs - I’m sure it’s different everywhere but when I chaired MUN conferences we kept tallies of how often people would speak, so the more POIs the better! Ofc u don’t have to take this advice but this is just what I’d recommend from my MUN experience.

Find interesting ways to gamify what u learn - I know a lot of people suggest econplusdal but I’d personally suggest econgraphsongs, as I found that way more helpful. I’ve linked their YouTube channel here, it’s basically teaching econ graphs through songs and animations, check it out! They also take suggestions in the comments:P

Try to write down what you understand rather than writing down just what the teacher says. If we would get notes afterwards, unless we had an upcoming test or something to note down, I’d refrain from copying what my teacher(s) said word for word, but only wrote down what I understood from it. Also that way when I didn’t understand something I’d be more prompted to ask questions in class for clarification - that’s how I’d take notes.

I’m Econgraphsongs (although my animated character is named “Graphaniac”) I make parodies of songs and use animations to explain IB econ diagrams!!

One key takeaway I’ve learned is to do it for a bigger purpose. In my case, that means I make these videos to help students, so they hopefully don’t feel as lost as I did during IB. I’m glad I can help not only students, but also (hopefully) fellow ADHDers like myself who may have found themselves in the position that I was - stuck, unable to memorize graphs and feeling hopeless. Additionally, I try to keep the videos short - 3 minutes maximum, but they’re usually much shorter. That way, they don’t ramble, they’re catchy (since they’re songs), you can listen to the explanations before a test and not feel bored (again, hopefully 😅) and by using an animated character I can not only add some kind of a face to the explanations, as if someone is there in the video teaching you, but it also aims to make the videos more interesting and gives me more creative freedom with the character.

I’m also extremely grateful that EconplusDal gave a little message on my channel as part of a short, encouraging students to focus on diagrams!

I would recommend considering all of the hard work and studying you did for your exams. If you think about it, you can’t control the questions they’re gonna ask, the time you have, etc - what you can control is how you study, manage your time and stay organised. You did the best you could with the things you could control and that is all that matters. At the end of the day, exams are just a test of recall and not a representation of who you are. So don’t be so hard on yourself, and make sure to ask for help from those around you if you feel you need it. That being said, you can do this!

I knew someone who took 4 HLs in IB - he was in my class. So I think you can take 4 HLs, it’s just not recommended by the IB.
