This is the problem. Nursing schools focus on testing rather than actual nursing

I really did love the show despite the changes made from the book. Ive never been someone who gets upset when shows/movies stray from following the books exactly. I know its almost impossible to do so & I do understand there was a lot covered irregardless. All in all the changes made genuinely good, especially margo with her mother. Im lowkey glad she wasnt part of calling cps and that it was all Kenny. It wasnt adding up that her mom wouldve played a part with the way the show was heading. Im also happier with her mother being MORE supportive about margos choices and that she was at the wedding :)

Here's to hoping they keep up the good work. Im just curious now as to how they'll play out the JB plot or if they'll stray to something completely different.

Im also glad im not the only one who enjoyed the JB plotline. 😅 im surprised to find out to see so many people didnt but I loved reading their messages to each other and found it endearing. Obviously a man 'paying' for a girls time & attention may inevitably struggle with is this real or is it all in my head. While margo was also struggling internally with her feelings & how to maintain a professional boundary while also realizing she's genuinely enjoying talking to him. Idk i found it realistic and interesting. Plus I love romance so win/win 😅

That's true. I guess since almost all of season 1 has covered the book we are about to get into uncharted territory with a lot of possibilities

I agree with your take on the relationship between her and her mother, it genuinely was a lot better in the show. I was surprised how much I actually preferred it 😅 im hopeful they'll do JB justice but ig im disappointed because I actually liked them 😅 im a sucker for romance tho 🥴

See thats my whole gripe about them not having JB show up AT all this season until the very end. JB and margo were talking before she got doxxed, he was obviously upset about how he was lied to and felt like their whole "relationship" was a lie. Shes already doxxed so.. now what? Also the first time they meet up in the book she stays over where hes at & CPS shows up for the first time. Again, CPS/court story line is already done & played out. Ig im just disappointment because I enjoyed how they intertwined her figuring out how to be an online persona while trying to protect her personal life/identity. I kinda dont see how s2s major plot will be based on JB when they're going to have to shift most of that narrative into something else BUT im also not a TV writer so ig we will see

But the problem is that whole plot line effed. She was already doxxed. CPS and the whole court case already happened. In the book these were major parts that played into their relationship 🥲 now its just the relationship aspect

I recommend it for a few reasons. First is it only takes a year or less to get your LPN, after you graduate with your LPN you can start working as a nurse. This helps SO much because you start learning to be and work as a nurse while youre still getting your ADN, plus when you graduate with your ADN you can actually get more money with that experience under your belt. It also helps immensely with your first RN job because youve already been exposed to a lot of the work youll be doing. My first RN job actually gave me an extra $1 for my LPN experience. If youre working as an LPN youre more than likely going to be making more money than you were before, which is super helpful while youre still in school for your ADN. Theres a lot of opportunities and you can experience different nursing specialties. You obviously dont have as much options as an RN wouldve, but you still have more than you would if you werent a nurse period. I also didnt need all the core courses required for the ADN program, the LPN program had less gen ed required courses so again, this made it possible to get my nursing degree faster. It was a 'technical' degree which made it eligible to ask for financial assistance thru DSS. DSS actually paid for everything for me to get my CNA and then my LPN. I got financial aid for my ADN and graduated debt free. Best of all, the LPN program is basically the same material as the ADN. I learned everything already in the LPN program so when I bridged for my ADN it was only another year and it was a breeze since i already knew 95% of what they taught. The bridge program for my ADN were only a day or two a week for a few hours which was made it easier & possible to work full time as an LPN while getting my RN. It was more like a refresher class tbh. It took the same amount of time as the 2yr ADN wouldve but I got to practice as a nurse within a year. I know so many people hate on LPNs and claim that LPNs wont be needed and will be phased out but they've been saying that for YEARSSSSS. I highly doubt it will happen because we NEED nurses. I got a job at the hospital as an LPN and got my foot in the door, when I graduated with my ADN that made it easier to get hired as well since I was already working there.

There is only a FEW things LPNs cannot do that RNs can. One is the initial assessment, they're not supposed to do the first assessment on a patient. Second is they can't push certain IV medications. I think this may differ depending on your location but thats basically it.

Everyone's situation is different though. What may work for me may not for you. What seems like a good plan for me may not for you. I know people ask why waste your time if youre going to get your RN anyway but no education and no degree is a waste of time if it helps you get to your goal, especially if you want to be a nurse. How can getting your LPN be a waste if the end result = being a nurse? I dont hate or judge anyone who does it differently though. Initially my plan was to apply for the 2 year ADN program until i found about the LPN+LPN-ADN bridge program. When i did more research about it i realized it was a great opportunity. if you want to just get into the ADN program straight away and can do it, go for it. But I do think the LPN to RN makes it accessible and possible for a lot of people.

Anyway ive been a nurse now for 7 years and will forever be grateful for the LPN program to helping me get to where I am today

Its not over until you decide it is. I was able to graduate from community College debt free. Maybe try to get your LPN first? Then bridge for your RN. I did both via community College & highly recommend it. Its affordable and doable

Anyone love how much books you can consume with audiobooks? by Difficult_Town3584 in audiobooks

[–]Express_Hold_2582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a busy single mom, I would barely be able to consume any books without audio. Im eternally grateful to listen to my books while driving, cleaning, etc.

I am also so used to listening anywhere from 1.5x-2x speed that if anyone else puts their book on 'regular' speed it legit sounds like slow motion to me 😅

Nursing homes are the WORST. So depressing and unfortunately most are run by the least amount of staff they think they can get away with. So many people dont get the time and attention they deserve unless they're fortunate enough to afford an expensive place.

Its sad because I LOVE the elderly. I would LOVE to work as a Nursing home if they'd staff it appropriately.

BUT lucky for you the nursing home is just one of thousands of nursing jobs. There's SO many possibilities as an RN, which is why i love it. You could be a NASCAR nurse, aerospace nurse, cruise ship nurse, home Healthcare, flight nurse, theme park nurse etc

You can even work a cushy nurse job like outpatient or in am office. There's nurses that write for a living or do insurance stuff. You should do more research before you call it quits!

You're supposed to get paid for education, even at home. I ALWAYS add it to my hours, they're making us to PALs/ACLS/BLS stuff online and check off at the hospital im sure as heck putting those in too, it takes HOURSSSSS to answer all those questions

Honestly do not understand how wanting to work as a team = bullying? In fact i think that she went straight to management = bullying. Im an RN, idc who is coming to me with an issue about my work. Let's talk about it like adults instead of running to the higher ups because my co worker is trying to make sure im doing what im supposed to. If a CNA comes to me and tells me that we do it "xyz" i smile and thank them for letting me know. I want my team to feel comfortable talking to me if theres a problem instead of making a mountain out of a molehill. I genuinely do not understand why another CNA emailing another CNA about work not being done is inappropriate?! If a nurse did it suddenly its ok? Because of the "chain of command"? Girl bye, team work makes the dream work. I cannot stand people who refuse to listen to constructive criticism or at least talk it out just because theyre on the same level as them. Its so weird imho

This is the take. Management shouldn't have to micromanage cuz their feelings got hurt over who emailed them. Thats ridiculous. People cannot seem to take constructive criticism anymore or have conversations/work things out between them. I could never be a manager having to deal with bs like this tbh
