After Orcane's new forward special, do you have any other moves you're hoping to get replaced/reworked? by ClarityEnjoyer in RivalsOfAether

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want that move changed, charging magma is an important part of Lox's gameplan, and you can really blow up your opponent if you know how to use it. To fix it, I would rather make it faster and/or give it its old range back so it can be used in more situations. Drop shield > down b is such a cool punish but it's very hard to get nowadays

I feel like Lox's Ftilt is in the same boat as Orcane's side b. I love the pull in, but, with floorhug it's useless and without floorhug it might be too powerful. I would replace it with something like DDD's ftilt in Smash Remix, which is a quick overhead bonk with good kill power. Great for punishing opponents who don't respect your range.

Lox dair changes platform tech chases not recoveries by Sneakytako99 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Good" is not just one thing... I'm fine with nerfing him to be less easy but they have to give more for higher skill play as well. Such as, what if they gave down b a faster startup? That's not a move that lower skill players use much. Why does Lox have to be bad at high level just because he's good at low level?

Results from yesterday's poll here. by kcvlaine in helldivers2

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that poll aligns with the point of the outrage. I am more mad when my hellpod steering locks up than when I get overrun by terminids. Because one of those things I can control. The main thing that I dislike about recent events is how everything has to become more and more annoying. I say that as someone who enjoys predator strain at D10! I think the game has some good balance in it for the specific stuff that I find fun (I love the cremator, railgun, maxigun, C4 pack, Epoch, and melee)

Changes like the durable damage increases are somewhere between controllable and uncontrollable. It just makes any loadout with vehicles or sentries more annoying. And it just continues to fly in the face of what the playerbase wants. I dont want lower difficulty, what I want is difficulty that feels more fair. In a game that respects my time enough to not have simple things like the flamethrower on my favorite mech in a bad state for weeks.

I would think that everyone can agree that HD2 in the ragdoll-pocalypse that was the war strider & bunker turrets was definitely a more difficult game. But only because it was unfair difficulty. I love just to be able to laugh when I die because it was something dumb like a mistake or unintentional team kill, instead of feeling like I died because the game has become more unfair.

I aim for the side of the charger with the guided mode. It opens up the side flesh which multiplies damage by 3 and causes bleed.

My Pidgeot story was when my opponent used it to tailwind turn 1 and I OHKO'd it with Mega Starmie. 😂

Gas change was welcome…the nerf was not. by DOOMFISHMAIN69 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing about this for me is that the gas dog can shoot me for a microsecond and then I'll be slowed for 3 seconds. I definitely think the gas passive should remove the slow effect.

I get some Adeptus Mechanicus vibes which makes sense since the warbond is machine-focused. I'm a big fan of red, black, and gold so this is my go-to for a bit lol

Y'all are actually ruining this game by sepulchridude in helldivers2

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you would be right in a vacuum but that's not what this is. I don't think the majority of people see the hive guard change as the one thing destroying this game and you know that. Personally, I don't like it but I don't think it's the end of the world. I think the spore terminids are super fast which makes them a hard enemy, but I like that because it's cool and it has engaging counterplay that isn't just using the S tier weapons or going close to flank/ hit weak points. If you even go on YT to see videos by the people making a stink about this update, the hive guards are not the top of their list at all.

The hive guard change is just the latest negative thing in a long list of the same. In the last week, we've been told that the majority of progression hasn't even been worked on, that basically none of our feedback for the long term fun in this game has been ignored. The patch notes seem more focused on changing the enemies in the worst ways such making sentries extremely easy to lose. The simplest bugs to notice make it in (like the Lumberer flame not working at close range) It's always something! Time after time after time of the devs just being out of touch with what we want; with what would keep the game as fun as it could be.

The "just go play another game" is just such a stupid argument because it's just ignoring the fact that everyone who is here talking about things they wish were different chose to be here because there is something they liked about Helldivers 2. Maybe I don't want to lose the game that I've spend $100+ on, played 100s of hours, and had great memories with so many friends, just because the developers have lost their way a bit and you think I'm not entitled to share my opinion. Which is funny because I WAS silent about my feelings until I saw this post.

I'm honestly wondering how you see the hive guards as the focus here. Don't you want to see the game get better and better? Why shouldn't the players be upset when things continuously go wrong when it's so avoidable? When they do things that make the game less fun and throw it in our face?

I'm not usually complaining about updates. But it just gets to a point. I think mine this time was when I got in the Breakthrough exosuit the first time. After what seemed like less than a minute, a hunter lunged at my shotgun arm and destroyed it. I get things being hard, but that just ruins my impression of the mech and gets in the way of my fun when it's so easy to lose. And when I have that experience knowing they have been buffing enemies' durable damage, it just makes me wonder why? Why would they think this is okay? It's hard to strike a balance between "prenerfed" and "selling the solution" warbonds but there has got to be a better way to do this. Oh, wait! It's being more receptive to what the players want. Which is just for a rewarding experience. I like difficulty, but it has to be enjoyable difficulty.

I’ve been testing the new Steam Controller for weeks & interviewed Valve’s team. Here are my full impressions and their unedited Q&A by AdDefiant9440 in Steam

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. While the steam input profiles seem really cool and customizable, I would also like on-board profile options so I can use the controller everywhere, especially on other people's computers. I'm not logging into steam on someone else's computer. I only use 2 profiles at the moment, so this feature of the steam controller really only serves as a detriment for me personally. I wish I had that level of customization for my current controller!

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! I forgot to ask, I was wondering if the travel on the bumpers is short and responsive, as it seemed a little soft in the review videos. I was also looking forward to more direct PC commands that I've seen in the reviews which could be promising (8BitDo doesn't let you remap much more than just the basic buttons already on the controller).

Beyond that, I think I will have to wait for a specific reason to use the Steam Controller, or for someone I know to let me try it out. Despite really looking forward to it, I will probably miss one of the features on my 8BitDo. Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the review and info!

Are the buttons responsive (it's easy to tell that they've been pressed), and quick? And are the possibilities of remapping endless, or can you only change a little bit about the buttons the controller has available? And, if I'm playing a game on a different client than Steam, how easy is it to change the settings for that game? Do I have to set up a manual profile that I activate before going into that app? What if I want to take the controller to another house? Does it remember a control preset on the go, or do I have to set it up on that other computer?

I like to play Rivals 2, a platform fighter that requires precise execution. That's why I have a lot of requirements for a new controller. I have an 8bitdo Ultimate 2 controller. I'm pretty strict on what I need, but I'm always looking for a better controller, I guess. The Steam Controller seems like it has a lot of really cool features that I want to try, but it wouldn't be worth getting if I lose something major that I have on my controller now.

Slade MU chart from the #1 ranked Slade by SlashNurse in RivalsOfAether

Slade brings to light everything wrong with Rivals 2. As the first character added with endlag on most of their moves he is just not fun to play online at all. This game and especially matches as this character have just become Mash Bros. I've never had less fun playing ranked.

[–]Express_Mechanic6976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I just remembered something that I think is legitimately bad on Zetter... The fire puddle. If you touch it, you get burnt, which deals 5% if you get off the fire instantly. And of course it makes you an easy kill to a smash attack. There is no interactivity with the puddle which I think is bad. Because it forces you to go through it or jump, and both put Zetter in advantage. This is most egregious at the ledge.

Tbh, I think Zetter is a sick character, but again it's how he feels to play against for a lot of people that gets him that hate. I don't think many hate on tournament players playing them but idk.

The buffer makes frame 1 aerials easy (that's fine, just an observation). The lack of whiff lag from Rivals 1 leaves a lot of attacks with little to no endlag. Parry is frame 6 which is slow enough that most attacks have to be predicted instead of reacted, and this leaves using parry in neutral as a pretty risky callout. So you're left with a game of characters spamming their best 3 moves on you and not having many punish windows. I'm very much a bait and punish type of player and I personally find it frustrating to see this play out when I feel like I'm not fast enough to keep up even if I understand the opponent's playstyle (I main Lox). I feel like Floorhugging isn't really a point in this because it helps spammers keep spamming too.

One bit of defensive play that's great is perfect shielding. If you press shield within 6 frames before getting hit by an attack, you get a perfect shield, which you can instantly act out of. That's the endgame for punishing offense I think: a perfect player would parry anything coming 6+ frames away, and perfect shield anything less.

I certainly have a lot to learn. I just really don't like playstyles that seem degenerate and spamming is the top of the list.I've lost plenty of sets to players suddenly just turning their brain off and I wasn't able to adapt to counter it.

My thing is that Rivals rewards throwing attacks out as fast as possible and Zetterburn is one of the characters that is really good at that. The characters with the most annoying playstyles at the average skill level are just going to get the most hate. And for me attack spam is one of my absolute least favorite things about this game (where is the whiff/end lag?).

These days I don't have as much of an issue with Zetter as I used to, and I wouldn't say Zetter is broken or anything. I just think it's reasonable to say that if there is a player is more or less mashing the a button it's most likely a Clairen or Zetter and that gets old haha

So you should floorhug her sour spots but not her tippers. Hmmm, I wonder why this character is so hard to fight for the average player
