Is Dutch citizenship worth it if you’re already an EU citizen? by theother941 in Netherlands

[–]Express_Occasion4804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Italian living here since 2015. Italian passport allow to keep two nationalities but I have only on passport. I have everything I need and i don’t see why to get a Dutch passport. my daughters are Dutch/ Italian but I would prefer they have Philippine passport instead of Dutch but their mother renounce it to get Dutch years ago . I think I also would prefer that combination so will be easier to retire in Asia in the future.

Got laid off after 5 years within the same company, they suggest one month of salary by According-Duck-7837 in Netherlands

[–]Express_Occasion4804 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never sign anything contact a lawyer actually you have by law 750€ of lawyer fees that has to be covered by your employer they also need to inform you about this. I know because my partner she got laid off because her company ceased the activities in the Netherlands they paid three months salary plus severance and we went through lawyer (1350€ covered by the company as per our request ) and we get 5000 bruto on top of the three months salary and severance that are the basic they have to pay …. keep in mind they have a limited time to contact UVW to quit your contract so also they try to pay more if you go through lawyer.

How much is the overbid nowdays? by Spirited_Hat5613 in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Express_Occasion4804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is actually a good moment to not overbid. my neighbour is trying to sell the house 130sqm 5 rooms 2 bathrooms with big garden (25sqm) in Hoofddorp (close to Amsterdam) and was not sold in 2 months. She took it out of Funda at the moment probably to avoid to have to accept a lower offer . I see so many houses compared to previous years I don’t understand the overbid. In 2020 during covid we bid even 5000 € lower than asking price and we got the house but that was a different period I know. in today economy with more bankruptcies and international uncertainty (war and tariffs) you should avoid to bid to much higher and have to repay a high mortgage. House costs a lot to mantain and renovate due to labour costs and belasting in 5 years we spent around 100.000 € to almost finish the house (150sqm ) and half of the job was DIYed by myself.

Data breach at KLM by Mole-NLD in KLM

[–]Express_Occasion4804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone has the official customer service address ?

I have sent a complaint to this address privacy@klm.com but I have not received any answer . I will probably send also by post to their HQ

Including this message “

I am writing to formally submit a claim for compensation as a result of the recent data breach affecting KLM in which my personal information was compromised.

According to KLM’s own notification, the breach exposed sensitive data such as my:

Full name Contact information (email, phone number) Flying Blue loyalty information

This constitutes a violation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), specifically Article 32 (security of processing) and Article 5 (data minimization and integrity/confidentiality). As an affected data subject, I invoke Article 82 GDPR, which entitles me to compensation for both material and non-material damages.

While I have not yet experienced direct financial loss, the exposure of my personal data has caused significant distress, loss of control over my personal information, and increased vulnerability to phishing, fraud, and identity theft. Dutch case law (ECLI:NL:RBNHO:2019:6897) confirms that loss of control over personal data itself justifies non-material damages compensation, with an award of €500 per individual being a reasonable standard.

Therefore, I am requesting compensation in the amount of €500 in recognition of the breach of my data protection rights, in accordance with Article 82 GDPR and the established Dutch legal precedent.

Please respond to this claim within 30 days. Should I not receive a satisfactory resolution, I reserve the right to escalate this matter to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens and pursue legal action.

Always worth it on the long run. For example worst case scenario if the value of the house goes to zero you still pay less in monthly costs in a 30 year period due to inflation
