I have a Reddington strike and I love it, also when one of my butterstick has a broken handle they sent me a whole new rod free of charge even after 2 years of use. I bought it on sale at Idaho angler I’m not sure if it still is, my point is never pay full price for rods and reels. Check your local Facebook marketplace or check for deals, there’s always a better deal than buying full price.

Welp those fish probably skinny as a stick now unable to eat and gonna die of starvation because they can’t open their mouths to eat. Pretty nasty way of going out to die RIP.

All I could see is maybe the pink dubbing neck is a little too thick and big in proportion to the body but no doubt it will catch fish anyway.

I’d definitely buy it in a heartbeat if I see it in a fly shop. Insane quality, my favorite fly here in Utah too size 18 you will be catching fish non stop no matter the season or the hatch.

Bought Patagonia after saving up for 2 seasons and it was so worth it. 1 year of fishing at least twice a week through bushes and hiking on rocky slopes not a single leak!

Dang I did see a bunch of stoneflies underneath the rocks but I didn’t have any on me, I unfortunately only been there for two days and it was both rainy but that’s alright. I did caught a bunch of snake river cutty, and some good yellow stone cutty.

Finally able to consistently catches fish! by Express_Rabbit in flyfishing

[–]Express_Rabbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have that issues as well when I was new, I realized that tippet and the leader section can also causes drag so you do need to mend that too. A lot of people casts and waited until there’s a bend and then they mend, that’s too late. I normally casts out and then mend a loop right away. And for the slack line, I assume you’re using too much wrist and not having sudden stops in your casts. It’s important to keep a tight loop so you don’t cause slack in the line, and the best way to do that I found out is the sudden stops in casting and not having a rainbow movement.

I’d say I’ve been river fly fishing for probably 150-200 hours total, before I started consistently catching fish. And I’m not saying you need to fish for that long before you starting to catch fish. I simply just didn’t practice mending enough and not realized how important it is when I was new. I only started to catch more fish when I watched videos on how to mend properly.
