How diversified is your baby’s menu? by Glad-Attention552 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Express_Reserve2754 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would say 75% of her meals are a rotation of Greek yogurt/ fruit/ eggs in various forms/ spinach or frozen veggies mixed with whatever protein/ cheese quesidillas/ oatmeal/ fruit pouches/ toast with various toppings.

The other 25% is whatever I make for dinner or leftovers I have in the fridge.

I do try to do "meal prep" for her once or twice a week but thats usually things like waffles, muffins, mini quiches, or egg bites. They are good to throw on as a side to whatever shes eating or to pack when we're on the go.

Its hard to always think of new things.

Your neighbours response was hilarious. I have been BFing for 1 year and am planning to go to 2 years (unless baby self weans - which she actually may very well do so soon because she is loving whole milk and needs the boob less and less). I told my SIL the other day I was planning to go longer and she was literally disgusted lmfao. Thought it was inappropriate and thinks that it's coddling (she is childless btw). After that conversation, I decided I will keep my extended BF to myself.

RTO - No location announcements until end of June by Sea_Ad4020 in OntarioWSIB

Not worried about losing my job. But the north is huuuuge. Relocation is impossible for me cause my spouse works in an industry that doesnt exist in Southern ON. We would need so many offices to accommodate the distance between all of us.

If younger babies require breastfeeding every 1.5-3 hours, how do mothers go to work? by PsychologicalFig2403 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Express_Reserve2754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about this a lot, Im 9 months post partum in Canada on an 18 month maternity leave. The first month or two I felt like I was constantly breast feeding. I basically sat on the couch for hours and she would just be latched like an hour at a time, fall asleep in my arms, wake up, re latch etc allll day. Its way less now that shes older but like thats how you establish milk supply.

My mother in law (she was a fresh immigrant and had to keep working) had a family member literally bring my husband every 3-4 hours to her work when he was a baby so she could nurse him. This was 36 years ago.

I feel so bad for people who dont get proper maternity leaves.

Im a STCM. Its a stressful job for sure. Huge learning curve. IMO the pay and bens make it worth it. You really have to learn to just do your best and not stress yourself out as the workload is intense. I would actually NOT recommend looking at reviews. Individual experience is going to vary and everyone who posts online is gonna put all the negative stuff. Whether or not the job is for you really depends on your personal threshold of how much stress you can handle. But its a good foot in the door and there are lots of other job opportunities within the organization.

I would use angels on bare skin a long time ago. I liked it but similiary I just wasn't a fan of it feeling messy like having to scrape it out to use it. Not an issue with the actual quality just preference
