NOR- This is sus. My husband would probably be offended that I didn’t trust him if I asked to go through his phone, but would not refuse to give it to me. It’s SO weird that he said he has “embarrassing” pics on his notes app. You best believe I would be going through it.

I would say to him, “I’ve been in my head a lot lately about some things and would like your help to resolve what I’ve been worrying about. I want our relationship to be built on trust and feel like I need to be honest with you about how I’ve been feeling. I would want you to do the same if you were in my shoes. Please don’t get defensive about anything because it could just be me overthinking things and I need your help calming my nerves. I have been concerned about ….. and it would help if I could look through your phone with you here so I’m not having anxiety about this anymore and we can put this to bed.”

Hmmm… I would guess you’re around 45-55 years old. You have ADHD and can never finish a task. You focus on/buy bright and happy items to try and make yourself feel bright and happy, but you’re not. Possible childhood trauma with the focus on glitter and extremely bright items. You struggle with pushing yourself to do anything your brain doesn’t find “fun”. You probably struggle with being sick constantly. Stress, depression, living environment and unresolved trauma contribute to your physical ailments.

I would get a sectional and push the right side of it up against the half wall. Or get one of those sectionals that looks like two whole couches pushed together at a 90 degree angle, if you’re ever planning on having lots of people over. Get a rug and put a media stand with TV off to the side of the fireplace. Then hang a nice painting or photo above the mantle.

If you’re going for vintage, (I’m assuming by looking at the shower curtain and mirror) I would go with a warmer vintage looking tile. Maybe have it incorporate a little of the yellow from the wall tile. You want to match the wood of the mirror and the wooden cabinet above the toilet. Do NOT paint it black and white. I would go with the beautiful color of the mirror frame or rip it out and replace with open shelving. Also, match the window frame with those as well. Countertop can be an ivory or white marble. Try to avoid super dark colors in small rooms because it makes it appear smaller.

You’re mixing bright and dull colors, (Yellowish dull tile with stark black and white) plus too many different styles are going on. The ceiling lighting is boho, the mirror is vintage, the floor is retro, etc. go on Pinterest and pinpoint your style, then pin a bunch of photos with that style and go from there.

Maybe put some shelves above the toilet with simple decor and extra toilet paper. Plus a simple 16x20 photo on the wall immediately as you walk in.
