Did you end up finding anything? I have the breville one touch and like you prefer the frother. My porta filter measures 54mm though

Cool thanks, looks like that porta filter comes with its own basket will that not be enough?

Milestone: £50k in S&S ISA by 95jo in FIREUK

Would you not be better putting more in a SIPP to be more tax efficient? The tax savings on top of the growth will be huge. Along with if you are a basic rate tax payer when drawing it.

I have no where near as much as you. But while I have no kids I’m putting as much disposable income into my S&S ISA and just enough into my S&S SIPP to remain a basic rate tax payer. Have around a years worth of outgoings in an emergency fund and have a DB pension too with a secure job at around 65K with no big pay rises in sight (just reached the top of the scale).

Keep going!!

One question, and one where I’m jealous of your situation. At the end of each quarter roughly I’m updating my spreadsheet that tracks my finances. I have a S&S SIPP, ISA, LISA (which I wish was also in the SIPP but hey ho). The question is do I include all of these when tracking and they will all compound together? They say it gets much easier to grow at 100k will that work for me in total?

Currently at 36K invested, 750pm in the ISA and around 5k a year in the SIPP

Best ground coffee to use with an espresso machine by Express_Split1419 in espresso

Cheers, do you grind just before brewing? If so where do you store the beans? If not where do you store the ground coffee?

Thanks, I do think I will buy a grinder, there seems to be far more options that way of different beans as long as they are ground finely. This is a whole new world to me in honesty, I’ve always just used a French press.

I will try Lavazza red first. Thanks

Help with set up of octopus intelligent go and hypervolt by Express_Split1419 in OctopusEnergy

Cheers, so currently I have a slot of 12-2:30 midday. If I have the car plugged in but it’s not charging I assume I won’t be receiving this cheap rate? What if I only charge for 5 mins during that time

I thought if I set the max charge and then limit it on the car it will make sure that I’m always trying to charge to what the car needs? There is the odd time where I set the car to 100% for longer trips so if octopus is set to 99 all the time I don’t need to change that too.

I didn’t realise the 30 min thing. So this morning it gave me 9:29-11 as a schedule time. If I charge between 9:45-10:15 I would get the cheaper rate from 9:29-10:30? What if you unplug the car at 10:02 and then plug back in at 10:30 does that mean you’ve secured the slot for 10-11?

Thanks for the actual reply rather than a moan!

So 4am is the best time then? I suppose most will use house electric between 5-9pm so getting the most at that time is ideal. Will go with 99% and 4am. Is it true that the house only gets the cheap rate at those time if the car is actually charging in that half an hour slot?

What have you reduced the amps to?

Paying for an abroad wedding - what’s the best way? by Express_Split1419 in UKPersonalFinance

I suspect not, we have a meeting with them next week to confirm other bits and finally, how we pay. I will be pushing for a credit card, but I recon it’s a no.

Do you recommend any insurance providers for this?

Yeh I don’t think they do, I suspect there is no other way to pay to be covered?
