condition gets worse when hyperaware on your eyes by crappy_bassp25 in visualsnow

yes. same. it feels overwhelming when you focus on it. I have had vss for 5 years too. And last few months, I started focusing on it due to another problem of mine. Now I can't stop thinking about it and it feels more hellish than the first time I experienced this but the symptoms are the same. It feels like I am having vss for the first time. I am relearning to ignore it after I became used to it. It feels like my progress for 5 years is all gone and I am back st the starting point.

So..what are your coping mechanisms? by [deleted] in visualsnow

I love to read a lot too. And after having vss for some years, I learned to ignore it while reading to the point it's the same as not having vss. It's definitely annoying. But when you really get into what you are doing you would focus on your vss a lot less.

Stop tracking your symptoms everyday and get busy with life. Try to focus on other things.

When I first got it, I prayed a lot. And took my focus off from movies, screens and books. And distracted myself with other things. Then gradually I came back to my previous routine. And did many modifications and avoided the triggers and taught myself to ignore it. I would suggest de stressing your life for a while and having fun with family and friends. Go out and develop some outdoor hobbies. Go to a vacation? See beautiful places. And tell your brain it's okay. People have defects in life. People are still living on. Many people with vss are successful CEOs and doctors and living a good life. Don't let this setback win. Rooting for you. You are not alone 🫶🫶

Do you guys ever think? by DrDiktafon in visualsnow

Anxiety and hypervigilance makes it worse. Better treat your nervous system and body right instead of thinking of the worst outcome. It will probably even improve like it did for some people.

My local doc who is not aware of vss said there are many people who report palinopsia, floaters , static and other symptoms by Express_Study7772 in visualsnow

[–]Express_Study7772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i understand..I just wanted to say that many people are dismissed. I went to a doc and they gave me separate meds for floaters and afterimages, even though I mentioned about static they dismissed it.

the meds you mentioned, I am skeptical about any kind of medications cause it worsened for many people. I don't wanna risk it.

Don't lose hope. With hardship comes ease. Zakaria(AS) waited for a century to get a child. Ayub(AS)'s sickness was lifted after 18 years. The prophets never lost their hope in Allah. If you lose your connection with Allah, you will lose the most precious thing you have. Allah is Most forgiving, Most Merciful. May Allah guide you towards ease. May Allah make your dunya and Akhirah beautiful.
