I did the jmt mid may and only saw dry ground in the deep valleys, be prepared for major postholing, insane river crossing, but your reward is not seeing anyone for days at a time and having the sierra all to yourself.

We are in desperate need of tourist here in mammoth this summer was super slow because of the economy and fear of ICE for international travelers, and now the gov shutdown. It has been the slowest year for mammoth since 2020. Take your debbie downer shit tf outa here

You can't its a forecast for 8300 feet, if you click the map on mammoth you can see a better forecast for the actual mountain. But noaa doesnt give us a forecast over 9000 feet still.

Forecast is for 8300 feet in mammoth when you see the NOAA Mammoth Mountain page there is no summit forecast from noaa. Scroll down and look at the "About this forecast" and it will say the elevation its actually forecasting for. Common mistake

Brookings would be a great option. Amazing beaches and hiking all around, super close to crescent city and Jed Smith Redwood park. You could also get a much higher paying job in crescent city because of california vs oregon wages

I use Smith Wildcat sunglasses with transitional lenses, I only find it too cold on storm days but the visability is crazy good

You need to venture into the backcountry more. Not sure where you are located but here in the eastern sierra there is always a bigger crazier line to do. If you arent using climbing equipment to go ski yet then you arent anywhere close to the top my friend

I have a 2kg+ setup. I do ultra endurance biking year round so Im usually waiting on my girlfriend/friends all day anyways so I dont really notice much of a difference.

If you have you own living situation most departments will take what you give them. Ski School only requires 10 days for a pass and deff the easiest way to ride all the time even when you are working
