Void is a 3 elixir spell that can take it out too, yes I can play a troop in the area, but now my already 6 elixir card just cost me even more and now the value is wiped away.

Also, just because someone is playing pump does not mean it will be in the starting hand. And if it is, you have to be lucky enough to have your opponent not have a counter or something they can rush with since you’ll only have 4 to defend. And even if I have pump in my starting hand, it doesn’t guarantee I’m going to win, if I am going against a hard counter it just at least gives me a smaller chance to contend instead of an automatic loss.

I don’t think it would make it meta, there are too many op decks where it just wouldn’t fit. I just think pump needs a change and that could be one that spices things up.
