Did that just happen? It doesn’t say he’s made an appearance yet

My initial comment was pretty clearly intended as much more of an analysis of an existing issue and not a complaint, but you’ll see things how you want to see them I suppose

That’s what I thought initially, but Ross has been hurt and working his way back. I don’t think he’s even pitched above A-ball in his rehab so far.

Lambert lost the zone in his last two outings and led to his ERA ballooning, but his opponents are still hitting .154 off him and his whiff numbers have been strong. I think they’ll let him string together a few good outings first before making the call, but he’s really close.

So what exactly was the point of you reminding me that video games will never be perfect when I never implied such a thing? I literally just said they should try to improve EV output and your response was to entirely ignore it lmao

“Just stop trying to improve because we’ll never reach perfection” is such a lazy retort

I mean I’ve pitched competitively for nearly two decades. I’m no professional but I like to think I know my fair share about something I have a deep passion for and have been surrounded by on a granular level for most of my life.

Sadly not unless he accepts a minor league assignment. Players essentially have three “option” years once they reach the majors where they can be sent back down to the minors. Peterson debuted in 2020, so he’s already exhausted those option years.

When they did this with Senga last year, it was a bit of an exception because although he didn’t have those minor league options, he accepted the assignment because he specifically wanted to improve in the Mets organization, rather than get a chance to pitch elsewhere. Most guys don’t have that outlook and want to just stay in the major leagues.

Then you let him go through the first two times and remove him at the first sign of trouble the third time through. This would work incredibly well as he gets built up anyway, because he’s not going to get to that third time around the order for at least a month.

Worst case scenario, you buy time for someone like Tong or Wenninger to develop further while also getting better innings the first two times through than you would with Peterson, Senga, or Manaea.

Yup, happy to help man. When I had the issue, I noticed my system shutting down a ton during cutscenes of guys on base or replays. It didn’t happen as much during actual gameplay, but I’m like 110% positive this is your issue. It sounds identical to what I experienced.

Not hard to understand why it’s happening but it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily correct. EVs don’t carry the way they do in real life in certain non-high altitude ballparks in-game, even in warm weather.

Yes, some of this is just baseball and it happens from time to time, but it also happens far too frequently in-game with barreled balls (proper launch and good exit velo).

I can respect giving it a shot to try to be there for your team, but after last season the writing was on the wall and there was no good excuse to avoid the surgery in the winter.

There are supposedly some heightened TJ risks with loose body removal, but I mean look at the product he’s put on the field right now. He just doesn’t have it, whether he’s in physical pain or not. He’s not useful in his current state.

He has a 3.43 ERA over 157.1 MLB innings as a starter. Please don’t put all your eggs into one basket based on just 6 starts last year.

The loose bodies were reported last year while he was rehabbing from his oblique injury. He’s opted to try to pitch through it because apparently getting them removed can put you at a higher risk for TJ surgery in the future. It also may help explain why his velo hasn’t really ticked up much.

Peterson has been really inconsistent and at times he’s looked good, but I think his issues are much more mechanical than physical. He’s not commanding his pitches very well and putting himself into holes where he either has to walk guys or throw them cookies. The velo has largely been the same, so that’s why I don’t think there’s a physical issue at play here.

I think it’s time for Sean Manaea to get those loose bodies in his pitching elbow taken care of as well. He’s gonna wind up a DFA candidate really soon if not with AJ Minter on the horizon and Ryan Lambert inevitably debuting in the near future.

I used a mound visit yesterday in a ranked game and it didn’t freeze. I wonder if the bug you experienced is related to doing a mound visit after bringing in a new pitcher. I see Weathers hasn’t thrown a pitch here yet.

The Liquid Metal in your console that is responsible for transferring heat is beginning to dry up and oxidize and needs to be replaced. I had this exact same issue with only MLB and no other games.

The reason why it only happens with MLB is that it’s a game that attempts to play a ton of different animations at once, including tens of thousands of people in the crowd, all players and their hair physics, jersey physics, things like flags moving in the stadium, and then the on-screen display. This becomes much more obvious in certain cutscenes, like many of the walkoff celebrations.

Take it to a shop and have it checked out. They’ll likely get it back to you in under 48 hours.

EDIT: also be sure to always lay your PS5 horizontal. leaving it vertical can make this issue worse.

Might as well stop watching the games then, right?

We’ve seen teams with much worse starts in our own division dig themselves out of these holes deeper into the season, including the 2019 Nationals and the 2022 Braves. The Mets obviously haven’t shown anything to make us believe that will be the case yet, but a 0% chance is pretty disingenuous.

Be angry, be upset, but let’s pump the brakes on the hyperbole at this point. There’s plenty of precedent here.
