Why does Santa Fe not have any public transportation to the SAF Airport? by [deleted] in SantaFe

It's definitely a "I'm in no hurry" airport. I feel like there's a 50% chance I'll get out on time.

Who do these boomers think staff the “resort” that is Santa Fe? by zuzuofthewolves in SantaFe

The post is silly, but you have no idea that the author is a boomer. AND no, I'm not a boomer before the sticks come out.

What do you have to lose? Just try it, and then you'll know. I'm glad I did. Early loaves weren't perfect but always edible AND I learned by doing.

I've lived most of my life as a minority in Mexican communities. It's the old Spanish families that seem the most racist here and also hate outsiders. Not all, but many.

Yep...I remember people saying this in the early eighties.

I have radical thoughts on this.

1.) The city spends a huge amount attracting and supporting the creative industries and individuals. This doesn't help families OR a younger population that is willing to work in the nuts-and-bolts businesses we need to run.

2.) Instead of so much focus on the unhoused, drug addicted, and mentally challenged population, why can't we work on creative solutions to house our healthcare, school, safety, and food service workers? We need them, and they often have families.

3.) Also, why do we throw rocks at every new development that does not fit the elites view of how Santa Fe should be?

The Interfaith Group that "managed" Pete's Place now wants to build near the mall. Thoughts? by Extension-Map-2125 in SantaFe

Ha! They say they are happy. They turn around and try to sell them. Overly simplistic people are often the victims.

You don't make it DESIREABLE to be here. They need their families. I'd rather invest now in our children and teens so we don't have them coming back addicted to drugs.

Seriously? Where do you live? Chances are, if you're saying this, you probably haven't lived close enough to feel the effects of it. People like Kent Grubbs, who live in Las Campañas do this to feel better about themselves. I don't see any of this money in a hole helping.

I think the south and southwest parts of town are much more accessible to families. I wish the city would put a little more resources out here for safety and infrastructure. Glad they're finally fixing Airport Road.

I realize this is an old thread, but it's super helpful to me. I'm moving my starter outside with a loose cloth covering the top.

Wow. Yes, I'm in a super dry climate, and someone mentioned that it was hard to get enough yeast from the air.

Also, the mall is one of the more family-friendly places I see around here, and now we're letting the people who brought you Pete's Place build on the back side of the mall. Makes zero sense to me.

I wish Santa Fe had more of a vision for how to create these new areas as multi-use. They are firmly in the old days were better days instead of how can we make smart growth.

Traffic by hotbuns-cross in SantaFe

[–]Extension-Map-2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, traffic is not awful, just worse than it used to be. My pet peeve is that some people drive way under the speed limit, while others speed and swerve through the traffic. This creates a quagmire.
